Uploading (sometimes called 'mind uploading' or 'brain reconstruction') is the hypothetical process of transferring a mind from a biological brain to an artificial substrate -- a highly advanced computer.

Once uploaded, one could, for example, inhabit a much more robust and powerful 'body' of any shape or size, move between bodies at will, live in a fully customized virtual environment, reprogram and copy oneself, enhance one's clock speed and intelligence by many orders of magnitude, gather, store, access & assimilate vast amounts of data (simultaneously), travel at the speed of light as pure information etc. etc.

So, do you think that one day this will be possible? Would it be something you would be interested in doing? Why or why not? And how would this, if it became a reality, effect your religious beliefs (if any)?

Yes, I think it will be possible. It'd be something I'd do as soon as I could, and then I'd terminate the biological duplicate.

Think about the micro chip implant and how it is used to control the mind and much more like make a man who is paralyzed from neck down walk again
this my Friend could very well be the beginning of the mark of the beast the bible talks about
A few years ago there may have been resistance, but not anymore," . "People are getting used to having implants. New century, new trend." This sounds remarkably like something I read in Revelation 13:16-18: "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

Digital Angel? Sounds more like we could be entering the age of the Digital Devil

I think it is possible to replicate stored information, but not transfer consciousness from host to host without actually placing the brain within the new host. All of your consciousness is a result of your functioning brain. If it shuts down, you no longer exist. The information transferred from your brain to any host that is not your brain would simply be a replication, but not actually you. In this manner, you could have multiples of yourself that make the same kinds of decisions based on the same experience and knowledge, but not actual multiple consciences.

I hope so. Since we (as in the part the religious call the soul) are nothing more than our collective memories and programmed responses one could theoretically live forever as a machine. It would be an amazing journey to say the least.

That would be freaky.

Would all that got the first upload get jealous when the next person gets the beta 3.0 version?

We will likely be able to manipulate the human body to make us better, stronger, faster, etc before our computer technology gets as far as you say. That would make human computers obsolete before they exist.
