Romani, you do not need a coven to be a Witch. ALL you REALLY need is yourself. Don't worry about the inability to "cast" the circle according to words that you read in a book, Use your OWN words, from the heart, for the Ceremonies, AGAIN use your own words, right from the heart. Use your OWN structure, from the heart. Don't worry about stuttering or mispronouncing words. Goddess KNOWS what you're saying and KNOWS what's in your heart before you even SAY it. There are deaf-mutes, paraplegics and even quadreplegics who are Witches, and very GOOD Witches and they are unable to speak the words, make the movements or even light the candles. THOSE aren't what makes you a Follower of the Goddess, It's what's IN your heart that does that. The ONLY tools that you TRULY need are YOU. Nothing else matters and they're ALL merely props that are used to focus your energies. You CAN do all that with your own mind and don't need anything else.
I've been a Witch for more than 38 years and I still screw up my rituals. Goddess knows that and is there to love me just the same. She doesn't care HOW I worship. Only THAT I worship. And THAT is all that's important to her. Take heart, child, and keep doing it the way that WORKS for you and don't worry about the goof ups. Merry Meet, litlte sister.
Brightest Blessings,
Raji the Green Witch

FIRST LET ME SAY UP FRONT, I'M A CHRISTIAN.
I hope you change your mind, but if you don't, do get instruction from a reliable source. If you are not sure of what you are doing, or don't have confidence in yourself, you DO need instruction or you could be putting yourself at risk.
The Bible speaks of Wicans/Witches. I believe you can be either a White Witch or a Black Witch. Decide which Witch you want to be and I'm sure there is some kind of website that will direct you to an appropriate coven in your area.

You might need a coven, or you just might need a good mentor.
Look on WitchVox or Meetup to see if you can find someone to network with and meet.
Bear in mind that meeting ANYONE from the Internet should be handled carefully. Also, if anyone asks you for money or to do things you find offensive -- back away immediately. Not everyone is in it for the right reasons.

Personally, I found it benifical to start out with other Pagans, and to seek out people who were experienced in specific areas. If you find that reading reputable texts isn't working for you, you may be better off seeking out others until you feel more able and prepared to go it alone.
Don't worry too much about the stuttering, it shouldn't cause problems, and remember words don't always have to be spoken aloud, you can write them down, or repeat them in your head. It's all about intent, will power, and confidence, if you're sure of yourself you should succeed, and finding others may help you there.
Blessed be.

I think more than anything, you need to relax.
A spell is by definition a change. You are the mirror of the universe. Change yourself and you change the universe, change the universe and you change yourself.
Slow down. Instead of 'calling the quarters', why not just do 'hey guys'. "To the guys over there to the East, come on over." It's not the wording that's important, it's the idea, the intent, the mental image, the reflection of yourself you wish to see in the universe.
If you have trouble with ritual, it's time to stop trying to do other people's rituals and figure out your own.

That is a great question. Honestly, I feel the same way sometimes. I am a Solitary but I am open to working with a Coven if the opportunity comes my way.
Please remember that it isn't about how you perform, it is about what is in your heart and what you are focusing on. You don't have to do everything perfectly - just have your heart clear, your mind clear, and your soul receptive.
I know it sounds too simple...... but it is the truth.
Blessed Be

No, you don't need a coven, and stuttering when calling the corners is no big deal--stop worrying so much, magick is affected by that, and if you're afraid that if you screw up, you might blow up the world, it's going to make your spells backfire--confidence is the key!

i think all you need is to accept Jesus in your life and He will make all things right. why are you wasting your time on earth with this. obviously you can't get it to work for a reason ....because God wants you to be saved , to realize that you need him to make it to heaven. he wants you to look for him not some coven. why don't you just ask him...he will show you....what do you have to lose. if i'm wrong , then you really didn't lose anything but if i'm right then you will have gained everything. i will pray for you tonight that God will open your eyes and your heart so that you will see what you are missing out on. just give it a shot , thats all you have to do...just ask for a sign , pray that if He is real and your only way to heaven then to show you...and He. i can promise you that if you are truly sincere and not mocking then He will reveal himself to you like you would never imagine. please seek the light, not the dark...it will get you no where but to hell in the end.

think of the quarters as if they are friends.(they are) if you screw up all they will do is laugh at you. that won't stop your intention. they know what your getting at. just relax and learn to laugh at your self. just correct yourself and keep moving.
I suggest you do a spell to help find you a guide. wear a pentacle on the outside of your clothes. i met a lot of friends that way :) if you are uncomfortable doing a spell by yourself are you going to feel comfortable doing it in a large group of people?

Don't be so tense, intent is half of the act. If you feel called to a coven, then it's for you.
Blessed be.
