As someone raised Christian (not practicing) I have always questioned "everyday" Christians and their morals/ethics.

My question is: If the Christ were to return - how would we recognize him/her?

It seems that everytime some one proclaims to be the "one" we lock them up as crazy or dismiss them because they do not "fit" our expectations. In any given major city there are a couple dozen homeless wanderers who believe they are the messiah - yet we brush them off. Does Christ need to PROVE himself to us? Or do you think, after 2000 years of his disciples studying his words, Christ would feel that our outlook would be different? That we would show more compassion and understanding to strangers and be more willing to follow someone who's not on TV trying to make big $$$.

What do you think? I'm interested.

Christ will call the church and if you are not a beleiver then you will not see Him at that time. All you will know is that a whole lot of people disappeared. The next time He comes you (and everyone else in the world) will see Him since He will come on the clouds with an army of saints behind Him. As for anyone else who claims to be Christ, the Bible tells us that there will be many who try to fool the world and some will be very good at it. "But if they tell you, there is the Christ or here is the Christ, beleive them not."

The Bible makes it clear that Christ will never come again in the way He came the first time - as a human being. When He returns the Bible says that every eye shall see Him and He will
return in the clouds with power and authority as King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

If you were to check the record - you would see that during the
greatest disasters of the last decade, Christians were there showing compassion and giving help long after the first wave of help came. It is proven even by the secular press, so that makes it hard to get past and refutes your need to show more
compassion as stated above.

As far as following someone who is not on television - we are not followers of those on television but followers of Christ. If you mean we should consider following one of those false Christs you mention above - no thanks. We follow Jesus - the only true Messiah!

Not, if Christ were to return, but when "HE" (not she) does we will be sure to recognize Him because He declared my sheep
know my voice and will not respond to or follow another.

When Jesus does return- He will return and everyone will see Him at the same time- Those who are born again believers and are here, will be taken up to meet Him. When Jesus comes- He will not even have to say who He is- because the whole world will know. I am not willing to follow any man- with $$$ or no money- I follow Christ- even those who do not know Him now, will bow then.

The next time Christ comes back he will do so as the conquering king. The prophesies say two manifestations of the Christ will happen, the suffering servant and the conquering king. When Christ comes back again everybody will know who he is and why he is there.

Revelation 19: 11-16

Look for the rod of iron and the sharp sword that comes out of His mouth and for the Mt. of Olives to split in two and a Name no man can pronounce.

Revelations1: 7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.

Jesus isnt coming back on a train, plane or bus, but from the sky on the clouds. Every eye will see Him either visibly from the sky or on the t.v. . When Jesus returns He will return to Israel and every eye will see Him

it says somewhere in the bible we wouldn't there would be an Antichrist to say they were the lord returning and true believers would know that the Antichrist wouldn't be the one

a lot has been lost in translation over time, but basically someone will grow in popularity and people will think there the chosen one then they will show there true attentions and the the true savior will save us all

Almost all of what we know about Jesus the Messiah (with any accuracy) is in the Bible.
It is in the Bible that you will read about our ability to recognize Him upon His return, and it is also in the Bible about recognizing the fakes.

Perhaps it's time to start practicing your faith again, and reading the Bible.

When he returns, there won't be any doubt. The bible tells us that every eye will see him. This of course wasn't the case with the homeless people who claim they're him, rev. moon, etc.

Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Jesus said, Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. (Matthew 7:15-20)

Luke explains what is a bad fruit.
For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. (Luke 6:39-45)

There are many details which the bible gives us about Jesus second coming. Jesus would fulfill the rest of the Messianic prophecies in the first testament.

About the ones on TV. we shouldn't follow anyone who is not Jesus Christ. All men sin.
