Will a Betamax video tape work in a VHS VCR if you put the Betamax ribbon in a VHS tape container?

You see these VHS and Betamax tapes are almost the same as far as technology so I thought maybe someone tried to do this before.

No the video modulation is set differently. Audio may work though.

No it will not. Beta tape is wider than VHS tape, so it won't fit in the container to begin with. If you managed to fit it in somehow, it wouldn't "play" because they are NOT the same technology.

Definitely not. Despite the similar appearance, there are more things different between those formats than are alike.
