I had it after my first
Apparently your brain does change during a pregnancy and some find the memory loss continues after the birth so this could explain it but of course tiredness does not help and a traumatic birth or Post Natal illness can cause trauma and a symptom of PTSD - Post traumatic Stress Disorder is memory loss.
But their is some evidence that this is a natural result of childbirth.
But do not worry it does get better

i found exactly the same, after my 3rd child,i was so busy thinking only of the children, housework, cooking, shopping, washing etc, etc, your head is so full all day every day, your memory for anything else seems to get blocked.when bedtimes comes for the children, your worn down, what i used to do was write a list of everything that needed doing,(i mean needed) i would have at least 15mins-half hour, and either read something of interest to me,or do a crossword,or something that i really enjoyed, when i got back to my jobs,i kept thinking of what i enjoyed in my break, that way i found that i could remember other things outside of my daily jobs, instead of my mind being on the one thing only, your keeping a part of your mind for yourself and your husband,it worked for me,i was surprised what i did know when my children started to grow up.

I have no idea what causes this but I absolutely have the same thing going on. I think you nailed it when you said you are on auto pilot...it just gets worse the older they get. I call this disease "CRS" Can't Remember Sh*t. Good luck.

I noticed this alot more after my 3rd child it was like i couldn't hold on to anything, normally your memory can be brought back by something someone says you think "oh yeah got to go their" but for me at the time it just wasn't their it was like I'd never been told, don't worry though i think it just your hormones

do you know i am so glad i am not the only one with this problem.
i too have three children and i hate it when peole ask me questions because half the time i havent got a clue.
i'm putting it down to the fact that im so preoccupied most of the time, my brain hardly gets chance to get into gear....

Try having four! I actually think it's the multi tasking and driving trips to school, nursery etc. Either that or my age. I've often tried to put the kettle in the fridge and milk on to boil.

Your body is probably just tired, i think you should check it out with a doctor in case it could be something serious. Then again it could be something that can be fixed if you see them soon.
