Ok we got through to them this time. A lot of hard work and a lot of phone calls, e-mails, and faxes. Now to get the senate off its duff and tell them we want current law enforced before they do anything else about illegal immigration. They want to spend some money get the fence built, add to the border patrol, call off the federal DA's that are persecuting our border patrol agents, start hunting down all illegal immigrants, make sure that all the people coming in have proper documentation and that they leave when their visa's expire. Check on people with visas for school and make sure they are in school or if they have a visa for work make sure they still are working for the company that brought them here. Illegal immigration is not just from Mexico. This is how the 9/11 terrorists got into the country and stayed here.

I think that we now have to insist that our current laws be enforced and all illegal aliens be deported if they have committed fraud or any other crimes plus the illegal entry. Get gangs off of our streets and English education back in our schools! No more welfare for illegals! The next administration should know full well what the American public wants done and we continue to contact all politicians regarding these issues!

Byrd seems to be saying he is retiring in West VA. Another open seat.

I don't care as much about the adminstration, it is the votes in Congress we need to preserve. Not one party or the other, as the Freshman Dems just proved, but by policy commitment. Just as well, because I think ALL of the frontrunners for Pres would flip to pro on this issue, in the face of business support and a chance to get this actually through.

I wouldn't worry about the administration. Its congress that is the road block here. We need to let them know that amnesty will never be okay, but securing our borders should be their next priority.

HALLELUJAH!! with the damn republicans finally growing a hair and doing what they are elected to do and realizing, FINALLY, there would be mutiny at the polls, its about freaking time!!!

now lets see if we can enforce laws and fine the employers and make them stop the busing to mexico to look for workers. hit em where it hurts.......the pocketbook and fine them to death!!!!!!!

now, i have to do my homework on this damned mess with the separation of powers thing and see whats up. i have been focused on this immigration business and unfortunately, much has missed my discerning eye!

thanks calvin, i did not know till i saw your question. i was busy watching andy griffith since i awoke. ok, i am off to target!

As I am from UK I fail to understand why you want such tough border controls...you have a huge country with massive resources, only a small percentage of your land mass is actually populated...don't you think that America should lead the world and accept, as your ancestors did, the poor of the world...and then maybe they would all stop coming to the UK>

Yes that is the question isn't it? We need to keep calling them daily to demand that they enforce the laws on the books.
Including finishing the fence that Presidente Jorge Bush signed into law.

We need to. The people need to push for current laws to be enforced...stopping now and letting things be would be a waste and not change anything from how it was yesterday.
