It all happened when i sat on a chair one night and i felt a second of unreality. I feel like i wasn't myself. I felt like my spirit / soul / whatever inside me was leaving me. I got really scared but the feeling is quite hard to describe, so i couldnt tell my parents about it. This is the nearest description i can give. Does anyone know anything about this illness of mine?

lol...not to laugh...but all too farmiliar....it sounds like a type of panic/anxiety attack.

i was just 'diagnosed' with having panic attacks....sometimes, i go HOURS...like 10 or more, feeling surreal (fake in a dream or something) and i HATE IT....it sucks so bad...and there are other symptoms that you can have...its actually very common and some people never even know they are having them..

the biggest symptom is "Impending fear your going to die"...the unchangable throught that something horrible is happening to you.

at 1st, i thought i was haveing a brain annyurism...i dont take medicine...but have the option of getting it.

As some have suggested this may be a symptom of panic/anxiety attack. However, normally it would occur with other symptoms. When I first had a panic attack, I found it difficult to breath, my heart was racing and felt like it was pounding out of my chest. I also had a fear that I was going to die.

The panic attack is an extreme form of untreated anxiety. Unless some of these symptoms were occurring I question whether it was panic attack. It likely is a form of anxiety.

I recommend that if your parents aren't abusive you do talk with them. You don't need to describe what happened, just tell them that you have been experiencing some real anxiety problems and you would like to talk with a doctor. If needed, the doctor can prescribe some anti-anxiety medication to help. However, I'm hoping that he/she might know a good counselor who could help you understand what you are experiencing and ways to deal with it.

It sounds to me like you had a major Head Rush. You probably moved too quickly when you sat down. You dont have an illness..... I think I just answered another ? of yours and you really do need some meds for your anxiety. It all stems from that. It all goes together with your panic attacks. Its a chemical imbalance in the brain. Usually seratonin. Tell your parents for Gods sake. Go to the DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!

No church can help you with this one.. u are not posessed by demons....... You are worrying too much and need some medication..... been there done that. go tell your mother now! you are not gonna get better until you do.

It is nothing to worry about.

Many people experience this, it is scary when you don't understand or expect it.

It could have been that you were so relaxed and have dropped into a very light sleep without fully realising it, or you had drifted into a meditative state.

Don't worry your soul/spirit knows where it belongs and will find it's way back should it drift off.

Do a search on line about meditation and astral projection.

Don't fret it is ok.

I'm on the fence with this one, because I'm a Christian that believes in "influences" and I have had experience with psychologist and know that the brain can do some wild stuff. I say you should get a physical to start with, so you can rule out neurological things. Then go see a priest.

This sounds like depersonalization. It's usually caused by anxiety, but is not an illness, just a symptom. If it occurs only occasionally, I wouldn't worry about it.

Maybe it's not an illness. A lot of people report having out of body experiences. I'd do some reading online about it and see if you see anything similar to what you experienced.

don't be afraid of the experience. it is not as uncommon as it seems. Don't worry, if you had to die, you wouldn't have come beack in your body to type this question. many people have experienced it in state of meditation or intoxication or similar trance-like state achieved spontaneously. next time it happens to you, relax and try to see and roam through your soul. You need to master the situation instead of being afraid. You may join blogs for ppl with out-of-body experiences to interact with ppl who have similar experiences and perhaps, knowing how to drive your soul may help you win over your fear.

feeling sort of disconnected can scare ya good, but it is a feeling, not a fact. I am not saying you did not feel this, because you did. but if you are scared your soul might leave your body... just think of this... if your soul was really not properly connected.... it would've blown away with your very first sneeze in life... wouldn't it.... ?? so relax. you're gonna be fine :-)

I experience the same. I'm also diagnosed with TLE, or temporal lobe epilepsy. I'm not a doctor however so you should contact one if the symptoms reoccur. It may be nothing.
