I think Halloween weddings fall into two categories.
The first and more popular is the costumed Halloween wedding category. Bride of Frankenstein type deal. Where you bridesmaids are witches and groomsmen are vampires, etc.
The second category and one I prefer is a little more subtle. The bride wears a more traditional gown with maybe a black sash or hint of black or orange and the bridesmaids wear black dresses with fall colored flowers. The flower girl throws fall leaves as she walks down the aisle and maybe carries a jack-o-lantern and the ring bearer carries a jack-o-lantern or something. Centerpieces with jack-o-lanterns and leaves. Tall vases filled with Halloween candy in black and orange. Fall colored flower arrangements. Maybe some skull and crossbones accents hidden somewhere subtle. Think upscale Halloween. ;)

depends on how into it you are but try and get your guests to dress up too! Make it a Halloween Party! The two of you should be dressed alike - Witch & Warlock, Devil & Angel, Prisoner & Warden, Luke & Leia, Dorothy & the TinMan, Pirates, ghosts, whatever floats your boat - get the entire wedding party into that theme (I love the Pirate or Vampire idea). Then all your decorations should follow that theme too. Bet you can get your officiant to go along.

Use pumpkins/gourds with orange, green, brown and golden flowers as centerpieces. Mini pumpkins with a slit cut into the top can serve as place card holders. Traditional color choices would be dark purple, orange and black. A haunted house themed wedding cake with a bride and groom riding on the little cart going through the Haunted house could be a fun, lighthearted idea. Lots and LOTS of candles!! I would not go too heavily gothic...just classy accents of purple, orange, or gold.

OK, #1...do NOT wear costumes...you are there to marry each other, not a ghoul and vampire...and the pictures never look as nice...(how do I know? I was forced to dress up as a vampire for my friends' wedding...don't ask)
#2 - Go with a mini pumpkin or two on each table with a couple of fine point markers so people can make their own pumpkins.
#3 - Use one red rose in a vase with black marbles at the base
#4 - DO dress your girls in black/red combinations...looks very nice, and you can "match" them by wearing a red or black sash...but don't wear all black or red yourself (unless you are completely untraditional)
#5 - have fun with it. Have you first dance be the "Monster Mash" or something
#6 - instead of the standard mints, give away mini chocolate bars or get those embossed chocolates made that you can give away to your guests

I am having a late October wedding, what I am doing is having my bridesmaids in simple, classy black dresses, the groomsmen in all black suits, same with my soon to be husband. I am wearing an ivory dress, my flowers are going to be orchids with reds and oranges, bleeding hearts (these are Tibetan funeral flowers), and lilies. Our wedding location is is a rooftop wedding with an indoor reception. The indoor reception is a cream building with black silk curtains, it's beautiful. That is what I am doing.

Use a lot of autumn colors, such as orange, red, and brown. And among the refreshments at the reception, have a lot of Halloween candies and Halloween-colored candies, such as gummi bears.
If you can get them, you might even try using bough of Autumn leaves to decorate. And if you can't get them at a flower shop, you probably will find something to your liking at large department stores.
Congratulations!

Have the wedding party dress up in renaissance garb (corsets, long skirts, kilts, armor, etc.). Be sure to have swords and lots of wine! And ask the officiant if he will dress up as a monk.
