RHPS is definite "cult classic", but some of my personal favs are :
Trainspotting
Repo Man (love Harry Dean Stanton)
Donnie Darko
A Clockwork Orange
Bottle Rocket
Sid and Nancy (Gary Oldman rocked this)
and of course.....
Harold and Maude, "...live free..."

Cult movie is a colloquial term for a movie that has obtained a rather dedicated yet particularly small team of followers. generally, cult video clips have did not gain repute outdoors of this small team (notwithstanding, there are some exceptions.) some cult video clips have long previous directly to flow beyond their unique cult prestige and characteristic improve into called classics, others are of the "so undesirable this is sturdy" form, and are destined to proceed to be in obscurity. Cult action pictures generally improve into the source of a thriving, obsessive, and problematic subculture of fandom, subsequently the analogy to cults. notwithstanding, not each movie with a rabid fanbase is inevitably a cult movie. The term cult movie implies a definite point of obscurity, and broadly familiar, mainstream video clips at the instant are not seen to be cult action pictures. A cult traditional is a cultural artifact (e.g. a movie or television teach) that has attracted a cult following and has been given the prestige of traditional with the aid of that following. Cult classics generally open with a midnight exhibiting. A cult traditional in terms of track could be case in point a single that's a heavy "fan primary", with an extremely dedicated following with the aid of the performer(s) fanbase and is classified as "traditional" with the aid of that following, yet with little or no fulfillment outdoors those human beings. yet another occasion may well be a single that has an extremely sturdy following interior of this is particular type, and is generally classified as a "traditional" with the aid of those human beings, yet has enjoyed very little or no crossover fulfillment.

The biggest cult classic is easily Rocky Horror Picture Show. People just went crazy over that movie, there are still insane RHPS fans today.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced.

Two great cult movies that don't get the acclaim they should are "Forbidden Zone" and "The American Astronaut." Both are far better films than "Rocky Horror."
