Alcoholism is not being able to function with out it, or drinking into oblivion. One beer a night will not hurt you, but if you require it to relax or wind down, you could be addicted. Any alcohol will affect the liver, but with the quantity you are taking in, it should not have detrimental effects. My father in law is an alcoholic, for 40+ years. He cannot function without a drink in his hand. He starts at 9am and doesn't quit until he goes to bed. If he were to try and quit, he would go into shock and go thru the horrible withdrawals. I think you will be fine, but if you start to drink more, you may have a problem.

I believe that drinking a beer a night isn't going to do that much harm on your liver, you have to be a heavy drinker for that to happen. Maybe next time you have a doctor's appointment ask your doctor what he thinks. If you were an alcoholic you wouldn't just be having one drink a day and you wouldn't be able to go a night without one.

Drinking one beer a night will not affect your liver or your health.

I'm sure you could find someone who would call that alcoholism, I would not.

Alcohol in moderation (1-2 glasses per day) is actually beneficial in many ways. Most recently it was discovered that 1 drink per day helped prevent dementia in elderly people.

This would not be considered alcoholism.

No amount of alcohol is good for the liver, but you're not considered an alcoholic unless you're consuming enough to get drunk every night.

An alcohlic is someone who, even if they only drink one beer a night, can't function normally if they don't get that one beer. If you don't have a problem when you don't have a beer, I wouldn't worry about it.

probably none. 1 beer a day does not mean youre an alcoholic. and the fact that if you aint got it it aint no big deal means you aint dependant on it.

Drink up and enjoy...you could probably have 2-3 without problems. Don't let some do-gooder health nut tell you different.
