It's just like when someone gets mad and can't come up with anything intelligent to say... so they call the other person "fat" or "ugly".

The argument that Americans are lazy is ridiculous and I know many people who would do the jobs that the bigoted idiots who spout that BS say won't.

It's a weak and childish answer and simply a phrase like fat or ugly to try and hurt the other person's feelings and get them to retreat on their argument.

This arguement is promulgated by Business.
They would prefer to have illegals working for them because illegals have no recourse when it comes to protesting/reporting abuse.
Makes it simple for employer to screw the illegal employee.
and they like that.
So they keep repeating the lie.
wringing their hands
"what can I do? what can I do?"

And the people that buy that lie are most likely young, or inexperienced. or never been around.

I have worked in factories.
I have washed dishes.
I picked caulifower/lettuce in the POCONOS.
I caddied at country club(UPPER MONTLAIR COUNTRY CLUB) in New Jersey.
I have done landscaping.
I have done yard work.
I have worked on factory trawlers processing salmon...
16 hours shifts...cold noisy wet tedious.
first for 2 months...then for another 5 months.
Also did contracts on two other trawlers.
I have done construction labor.
I have dugtrenches for sewer line and dug up sewer lines for repair.
I have done janitorial work.
done all kinds of stuff
dispatched for burgler alarm company
did security guard
tended bar
I have done warehouse work.
I have also served ten years USCG.

The estimate of 12 million ILLEGALS is conservative.
more like 20 million.
with kin south of the border who will move on up north.
figure 100 million new arrivals.

And that is what they want.

Give these people amnesty and "AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP" will signify NOTHING.
It will have no more value than a food stamp.

Once upon a time kids just out of high school could get a minimum wage job.
Now they are scarce as hens teeth in my neck of the woods.
I know many young AMERICANS that would be glad to work for minimum wage at jobs they supposedly won't do. I did when I got out of school.
It seem the jobs Americans won't do are secure the border and stem the invasion.
Pourous borders and paying illegals slave wages enables the corrupt Mexican govt as well as big business to continue to exploit the lower working class for a tidy profit.
Anyone who supports it is just as guilty.

I live in a very poor area of Virginia. I consider myself very lucky to even have a job (I am white, 26, and female, I could not afford to go to college even with grants and financial aid). Business around here prefer to hire hispanics/immigrants only because they can work for minimum wage and no benefits. They prefer to take the risk of being caught by INS and save a few bucks by not hiring someone white or black who is legal.

It's not the work that Americans wont do, it's the diddly-squat fifty wages that Americans wont work for. If these exploitive companies would pay decent wages for the work, They could find plenty of Americans to do the work and the illegals could go back home and go back to growing opium to be consumed by rich American liberals. When you look at what these el-cheapo companies charge their client/victims, you know full well they CAN afford to pay wages that Americans will work for.

You can find people of any race to do all jobs. The problem is the subsistence Mexicans come from are willing to work these jobs at lower wages than many native americans will. So this is a misconception that Americans are unwilling to do this work. Americans wont do that work for the price that Mexicans will, but they certainly will at higher wages.

Too date, I have never seen any Americans, black, white, or college students in any of the following situations where illegals have been known to work or seek work:

-as day labor in front of the Home Depot
-in the fields of any State harvesting fruits and vegetables

If these white or black men, college students really wanted to work, they could find it. If illegals find enough work on a daily basis, there is no legitimate reason why any American should not be able to work.

The missing piece of the claim is "at the salary being offered." Many Americans simply will not work the long hours for the low wages (often illegally low, since many jobs undocumented aliens do are off the books) that undocumented aliens are willing to work. If we eliminated all undocumented workers, then the cost of everyone's fruit, vegetables, lawn care, housekeepers, maids, janitors, etc., and any products made that rely on those workers, would rise considerably.

I guess if you want to work NOW, you better look for work, NOW. There's a lot of jobs out there, people are just so lazy to look for them and complain at how menial the job or how low the salary is. I guess the most important question is, are you willing to settle for just about any kind of job, regardless of how menial it is and how much low the salary is?

The point is that they won't do it for the same price that the illegals do it for...they have to be paid minimum wage. The factory farms HATE that...they want to pay the illegals 2$ an hour...not a college kid 7$.
