Western Union is trustworthy in itself. However, there are several scammers who have used WU to their advantage in order to take people's money. So you have to be very careful with the people you deal with. As long as the seller lives in the United States, have them go to the post office and purchase a Postal Service Money Order for the EXACT Amount. Do not send anything until you have been able to cash the money order.
The problem with WU is that if he pays by credit card and the charge is later disputed WU can request that the money be returned. That means that you would be responsible for the debt.
Also, send the item to a physical address. That is DO NOT send it to a PO Box or outside of the US. When you do send it also get a return receipt with signature required.

Yup. If they go to the Western Union and put it through, it will come through. You go to your local Western Union (sometimes they are available at the customer service desks in local grocery stores). You tell them you're expecting a money order from so-and-so in such-and-such location, you fill out a little form to say you picked it up, and then you wander off with your money. They will either cut you a check, or give you cash, depending on what options are available at that particular location. Do not ship until you have the money, though. Good luck. ^_^

>>If??? <
The Western Union office in your town & the Western Union office in his town have local bank accounts that issue & recieve checks.
Western Union is a billion dollar business, they're check should be good.
Personally I like this money transfer business better, but it takes a little time to understand how it works and complete the paper work.

Good Luck!

you just have to go to a WU retailer and give them your state issued photo ID and they will confirm receipt of the funds and cut you a check. Ask the person sending the $ for the confirmation number before you send item.

You designate the place for the money to be collected and subject to identity proof, walk away. It is not the safest way as you have no come-back.
