yup, your body goes into starvation mode and stores everything you eat as fat

It can!! Fat is just a way of storing extra energy for use in the future. If you eat and then throw up your body realizes over time that it is being starved. So your body learns that it needs to hold onto the fat to use as energy in the future. Our bodies are very smart. If it learns that it is going to be starved it will hold onto that fat for use at a later time.

Cassandra's an idiot.

When you force your body to operate without getting food, it assumes food is unavailable and drops your metabolism below healthy levels to try to stretch out what little energy you have. If you then eat something normal, your body can't burn any of it and gets stored directly to fat.

It's spelled Bulimia, and the disorder really messes up your metabolism, so that yes, when you do actually swallow and keep food down, the body will automatically store it as fat.
