I know its probably not a premonition but what do you think this means?:
My dream starts out as I'm looking outside to the west. A mushroom-cloud appears way off in the distance and I run inside. My parents aren't home and my brother doesn't care. I turn the TV on and a news anchor says that the radiation will spread from the coast of California to Cleveland, Ohio, and I was not far south of Cleveland. I frantically run around the house looking for things to pack up and tell my brother to get the keys to the truck. He goes in his room and doesn't come out for the rest of the dream. I start grabbing things in my room like my inhaler, cell phone (I don't even have one in reality), and some other things. I was looking for a knife but I couldn't find it. I put my cheap guitar in its hard case and got my little blue safe with money in it, then laid them on the floor next to each other. I got a call on my cell phone from "Matt". I only know of one Matt and I never talk to him...

outside of school in real life. I answer it but nobody is talking. I look outside and there is a thick, smoky fog floating around. I assumed it was radiation although I know you can't see radiation. I was thinking that if I left quick enough I wouldn't get radiation poisining so I hurried into the kitchen with my packed up stuff. I see my mom walk in with groceries like she just got back from Wal-Mart. I start telling her to take us East but she said "not tonight." It's completely dark outside by now and I wonder if war has been declared on any country. I sit down at computer and get online. First I have to check for messages on Myspace lol. I had my TV on and I could hear a woman saying that there was another nuclear missle heading for my part of the country. I get on MSN and start talking to one of my friends in Kentucky and he suddenly goes offline. I hear a rumbling in the distance and I go into my parents room to tell my mom to move East. The only thing I remember afte

after that part is something about Alice Cooper walking around my house...Don't ask. I've had other dreams like this, usually where I have to brace myself for death. And I think it stormed last night so that might have triggered the "explosions" I heard. One thing I noticed was that I usually have these kind of dreams on rainy mornings. Sorry my dream is so long.

You don't mention your age, but from the hints in your description of the dream, I'd say that you are still fairly young. So, the emotions of day-to-day living are possibly getting to you and you feel like they are out of control -- common enough for younger people. (Even older ones, but the dreams tend to be different for us!) Interesting that you see "safety" in the East. Is there someone or something there that you might think is better or safer than where you are right now?

The storm is definitely part of the issue -- the minimal disturbances from thunder and rain not only may enter your dreams and influence them, but will bring you to a "lighter" state of sleep, so that you remember your dreams more easily.

If I were you, I'd just take a calm look around at my life and see if anything out there is looking more "threatening" than usual. If so, try to find a way to deal with it constructively so the dreams calm down for you.

It's a little hard to explain, but this dream probably manifested through different things you experienced the day leading up to the dream, or what you have experienced throughout your life. Ican't say wether it is a premonition or not because it's scary these days and it's hard to tell whats going to happen next. Maybe it's just stress asserting itself through your dreams. I hope they get better.
