That would be idolatry.

Atheism is the only way to avoid any risk of committing idolatry (a despicable sin to most gods out there). Why take the chance of worshipping Jesus? Do you really want to piss off Wotan?

Christians are a peculiar people because thier beliefs are distinct from every other belief or religion known to mankind the only exception being Judaism.
The uniquiness being they believe that there is only one God , He is distinct from others, He has a revealed name YHWH, Jesus Christ, or Holy Spirit these are not different entities but are one and the same being with different dimensions like body , soul and spirit. The distinct point of belief is that they believe that Jesus Christ has paid the price for their transgression against a perfect God to reconcile mankind to perfection again.
They believe that there exsist an afterlife where the faith in Christ would grant them an everlasting abode with a perfect God who cannot accept us without the atonement of Jesus Christ for our choice to trangress against God and therby accept imperfection as an inheritance of this choice.
For more details you can always look around.

God always was and always will be. When God created humans, they at some point turned their backs on Him because they didn't want to live by His rules, and created their own false "gods" giving them free reign to do whatever they wished. This is where all the false gods originated from, and this fascination with creating "new gods" still continues today, simply because people don't want to follow the One True God, The Great I Am,The Alpha and Omega. One day,all other "gods" will disappear, but the Great God Almighty will forever stand.

They could just a well do that. Pascal might if he took his wager as seriously as some Christians do. They do not see it applies to all the many gods priests have ever invented to use in con games.

Because one of the Ten Commandments CLEARLY states, "Thou shalt have NO OTHER GODS before ME." God won enough battles against false prophets in the OT to convince me of His superior love and power.
