What is the best food for dog's?

because my dog his name is oscar,& he's a boxer and i guve him new food about once a month and he doesn't eat.
So what food should i give Oscar?

Dog food is a controversial subject that causes a lot of conflict of opinions. There is no right or wrong, and really the "best" food is what works for your dog. One dog may thrive on a certain food while another dogs terrible on it. Does this make the food good or bad? of course, the food is great for the dog who thrives on it and bad for the dog who does terrible on it.

My personal opinion is that dogs are carnivores and a low quality dry dog food that contains a minimal amount of meat and is full of grains, fillers and additives is NOT a suitable diet for a canine. A suitable diet in the ideal world would be whole raw foods, but for the average dog and owner a high quality dry food will have to do.

While this is not always strictly true, generally you get what you pay for with dog foods.

Anything by these brands; Eagle Pack, Canidae, Timberwolf Organics, California Natural, Innova, Solid Gold and Chicken Soup For the Pet Lovers Soul are high quality foods. Even some of the brands you can get in places such as PetSmart (Natural Balance, Nutro, etc.) are ok.

If you are in the UK, James Wellbeloved is probably the best easily available dog food on the market.

Avoid junk like Pedigree, Science Diet, etc. These foods contain little meat (and any meat that they do contain is poor quality) and rediculous amount of grains and fillers. Feeding high grain/high carb food is terrible for the health of your dog therefore they should be avoided at all costs

It is important to not change your dog's diet/ food frequently. This may upset his stomach and mess with his digestive system. Any dog food with human grade food is going to be good. It will have less fillers and you will not have to worry about dog food recall issues because the food is safe for humans to eat, although not tasty enough. The three brands I know that are human grade off the top of my head are canidae, wellness, and solid gold. You can find these in nicer pet food stores. Most dogs when they do get hungry enough will eat, but if you want to encourage him you can get a fish oil or other kind if yummy, smelly supplement to squirt on the food to make it a little more desirable.

I would not change the food once per month.This will make him picky.Boxers have sensitive stomachs.

Well, the best food for dogs is raw food- meaning raw meat, raw meaty bones, and raw organ meat.

How to grade your dog's food:
Start with a grade of 100:

1) For every listing of "by-product", subtract 10 points

2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal or fat) reference, subtract 10 points

3) If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points

4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5 points

5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first five ingredients (i.e. "ground brown rice", "brewerâ€â„¢s rice", "rice flour" are all the same grain), subtract 5 points

6) If the protein sources are not meat meal and there are less than 2 meats in the top 3 ingredients, subtract 3 points
