Partially true. Mainly the politics and geography.

But then so are the Odyssey and the Iliad. That does not make Zeus and Poseidon real.

As far as an historical book the Bible does have numerous accurate accounts of ancient Hebrew and early Christian history. While the miracles and other supernatural events require faith and can be looked by some as fables, but historically the Bible is quite accurate at some points. (Book of Kings and Acts of the Apostles).

the bible says man was first made as adam and eve not as an evolution of apes which has been proven. it says the skies are the heavens but the only thing up there is space.bible makes earth history only go back thousands of years yet we have fossils that show creatures that lived millions and even billions of years ago.
the bible was made up and written by a group of men who wanted to make a new way to have people united and people who didnt know much about thier world and history and the galaxy

scientists have evidence for all of this yet priests and christian before and now have none

I honestly believe in the bible.

I honestly believe it to be historically accurate.

The very fact that the bible lays it on the line and shows that even it's hero's of faith were all to human and made some serious mistakes is one proof that its not just made up stories.

In most myths the hero's are infallible.

The fact that it tells of Israel's defeats as well as victories shows it to be a more accurate record than most ancient records who only tell of their victories. If they were always victorious why pray tell is not Egypt or Assyria or Babylon a world super power?

The fact that it really puts God's chosen people in a very bad light in many cases distinguishes it from myths where the chosen could do no wrong.

Archeology continues to prove the bible right. Thing that people used to think were myths have been confirmed by discoveries in the holy land.

It's really funny to me how unbelievers are very choosy about which science facts they will accept. They will rail against believers about dinosaurs but refuse to believe archaeological evidence of the truth of the scriptures. Way to funny. You guys really are laughable in your mindless acceptance of theories and rejection of scientific facts.

Somewhere in there it says Eve spawned from Adam's rib. HOWTF is this possible? And then they had kids right? being the only "humans" on "earth", and THEIR kids had children with eachother I must add, and their children had children. the gene pool would be too close, Adam and Eve must have been perfect (if this is true) and that the many mutations led to today's humans. That is, if you don't think that I am perfect. Also, how is it possible, and how could it be proven that someone could part the Red Sea? Really, I want proof, email me or something.

Not all of the Bible is true I'm sure, but much of it is just historical writings, the fact that so many people use it as there religious text (and misinterpret most of it) doesn't discredit its historical accuracy.

Non Christians have been trying to prove the Bible is not true and not accurate for years on a historical and geographical and archaeological basis.

Each time they have found that the Bible is indeed accurate.

Many of those atheists have decided to become Christians as the result of such study.

The most recent of which was the Legal Editor of the Chicago Tribune.

I do...because of the following.
There was a king David
There was a king Solomon
The bible mentions rome and the Ceaser
The bible talks about events that overtook the cushites and medianites, and persians.

Archeologists have found proof that certain pharoes who were mentioned in the bible existed, (Ramses I,II, and III)

Because the Hill of the skulls actually exists in Jerusalem today, just like it did then.
Gethsemane exists today, just as it did during Christ's time.

It is not true on a historical or scientific basis. The universe was not created in 7 days 6011 years ago; there could be no Tower of Babel; there is no evidence of a world flood; etc., etc., etc.!
