while the above answer is true, for wire that is no longer sold....

you can purchase a 2, 3, 4, or even more splitter to connect to the jack, and plug multiple line cords into this splitter... this is the cheap method (splitters can be purchased at the 99 cent store)

to run another jack in your home or office... open your existing jack... your "new" wire that you are going to install will be either CAT 3 or CAT 5... connect the blue(white) wire to the green connection and the blue(solid) to the red connection....

if you have 2 lines, then you can connect the orange(white) to the yellow wire and the orange(solid) to the black connection...

first step is to walk thru and see where you are going to run the new wire....

next step is to drill any holes where the wire needs to go thru walls (never go around a door jam where a door can close on the wire.) *use a 1/4inch by whatever length you need (i usually use 1/4 x 18 inches) drill bit...

step 3, from either end (i would place the roll of wire nearer to the existing jack) pull the wire thru all of the drilled holes...

step 4 terminate the wire as described above to the "new" jack (i find this easier to do before connecting the jack to the wall) then screw the jack onto the wall (you can use the double sided backing that probably came with the jack, but it will eventually come off, either screw into the wooden base board, or if Sheetrock, you should use the plastic anchors)

step 5,. with a t-18 or t-25 staple gun (i prefer t-25 9/16 staples, they are bigger, and less chance to pierce the wire) start stapling the wire from the "new" jack working your way towards the existing, working jack... staples should be no further then 12 inches apart, a quick way to keep the staples uniform length apart is to just use the length of the stapler... normally I double staple the wire at any bends, or corners... if there is large furniture you can not move, double staple, then 2 or 3 inches closer to the furniture triple staple, pull the slack out as tight as possible, then triple staple next to the furniture, and double staple 2 or 3 inches back... this should hold the wire nice and tight....

final step... open the existing jack and terminate as described above... blue/white to green, solid blue to red... for 2 line operation orange/white to yellow, solid orange to black...

the colors used really doesn't make a difference, as long as you use the same colors at either end of the wire.. but using the proper color code will make repairs, or additions easier for the future...

color code :
the striped white wire in a pair is the tip
the solid wire in a pair is the ring..

1 blue - blue/white
2 orange - orange/white
3 green - green/white
4 brown - brown/white...

the color code continues.. but that is all you will normally come across with cat 3/5 cable...

normally the tip is on the top, when wires are wired top and bottom...

normally the tip is on the left when wires are wired side to side...

Of course that was the wrong thing for him to do, but I wouldn't split up over something like this, even if it is combined with other flaws. Because, guess what? There are no perfect men (or women, for that matter). It's a sad truth. EVERY man you will ever be with will have flaws. And we all have our days where we're super stressed, and occasionally you do just lose control. You've said he's never done this before, so chances are that was a one-time thing. Now, matters would be different if he had done something like hit you or your daughter. But he just broke the stroller, and I'm sure he didn't mean to break it - it was probably an accident. All he probably meant to do was slam it down. All you need is a little bit of professional counseling. Both on your relationship and on parenting. Divorce (or I guess "splitting up" for you) is not always the answer. Especially since you have a child together, splitting up would probably make things worse.

I have never heard of a phone point.

Are you wanting to run a second extension somewhere else in the building? This is easy. All you do is get the 4 conductor phone wire; connect red wire to red terminal at old and at new locations while maintaining original red wire connection. Once this is done do the same for the green, yellow, and black.
