That Czech is a sweet little rifle, I have one and love it.
I use whatever high velocity hollow tip rounds are available. It's not too particular.
Here's a recipe for you. Cajuns know how to eat 'coneys'.
Cajun Rabbit Stew
2 cups buttermilk
1 rabbit, cut up
flour
salt and pepper
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup corn
2 large potatoes, cubed
1/2 teaspoon cayenne or Cajun seasoning
1 large onion, diced
2 bay leaves
2 cups fresh tomatoes
Cut rabbit into pieces. Marinate in buttermilk for 2 hours; drain.
In a large bowl, mix flour, salt and pepper. Dredge rabbbit pieces in flour.
In a large Dutch oven, heat the butter over medium-high heat. Add the rabbit pieces and brown on each side. Add the corn, potatoes, cayenne, bay leaf and onions; fill with salted water until Dutch oven is 3/4 full., Cover and bring to a boill, then reduce heat and simmer for 11/2 to 2 hours. Add the tomatoes and continue to simmer another hour.
I like to serve in big bowls over rice, with plenty of french bread and some tabasco on the table for the real heat lovers. You can, of course, cut back on the cayenne if you don't like it too hot.
Serves 4 or 5
Bon appetit!

I hunt rabbits often and I really like using .22 LR Subsonic Hollow Points. There are many brands available but the best ones I use are made by Remington (USA), Eley(Made in Britain),Aguila (Made in Mexico). These are most all available at any Hunting Supply or Sporting goods Dealer. They are inexpensive and cost about the same as regular standard velocity .22 ammo. The subsonic 22 round has all of the knock down power of regular .22 long rifle cartridges, very accurate but since it's "subsonic"..It makes 80% less noise when it's fired out of any standard rifle.(Bullet doesn't break the sound barrier) They will function in semi-auto rifles, bolt actions..even pistols (But the shorter the barrel, the louder the noise/shot. They are extremely quiet that you don't hear the report but you do hear the bullet striking the rabbit.Puts them down first time every time if you hit the head /neck area, with minimal meat damage. These are also great for Squirrels and Groundhog's.....

Lapua Midas M/L .22 LR Rimfire
Super accurate ammo for your super accurate rifle. Get a quality varmint scope, mueller makes a good one, as does millet, both would be in the 250 to 400 dollar range. Below is a link to ammo for your rifle.

They can be great, if you're hunting for small game. Ruger 10/22s are excellent rifles, and come in a wide variety of styles that can be further customized for your specific purposes. As a beginning hunter, this is a great rifle to teach the fundamentals with, and ammunition is very cheap so you can practice with it a lot.

"James" I think he wants to eat rabbits. Ever seen a Swamp Rabbit, they aren't little or cute.. .. .. But they taste good ; )
Any 22 round will easily kill a rabbit quickly just so long as you hit it in the head.
How much do you want to bet that all the people complaining live in cities. Dont you just love it when city people act like they know and respect the wilderness. You people know nothing. We are a part of nature, all you know is concrete and pollution.
If we stopped hunting then animal populations would explode. Starvation and disease would quickly set in and many animals would die a slow death.
Man is a important part of the food chain. You city people wouldn't last a day in the wild that you "try" to protect.
We live in the wild, so we know the law of the land.
You people wouldn't even be here opening your rude mouths had people in years past not harvested meat.

i have a .22 rim fire LR and i use Winchester super x 40 grain round noses. it has enough force to kill a rabbit, but it doesn't destroy the animal so you can easily save a lot of the already little meat on a rabbit and you could still keep the pelt.
if you want a more destructive rifle for rabbit, i have a Winchester .22 magnum lever action. i use it to shoot groundhogs on my grandparents farm as well as coyote (they have alpacas and are getting chickens.) you can either shoot hollow points or round noses and still easily kill a rabbit.

NON HUNTERS NOT ALLOWED IN THIS FORUM. Your opinion as well as your presence is not desired. Please take your slow firing neurons to some other forum and join them for a bit of tree hugging and tushie touching.
Nice rifle kid. Making sure you clean it well EACH time you fire it and ensuring to keep it out of the weather so it does not get pitting in the barrel will probably do more than selecting a .22 calibre round. Hitting your target is the most effective way of killing it. Take the rifle to a range or safe place to fire it and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Be safe and remember there is no such thing as an unloaded weapon.
Also, please ignore the bigotry and whining of those less fortunate than yourself.

each to his own,
for everyone giving advice good on you, thats what this website is about, keep it up
for those of you giving abuse, shut up, do you honestly think that posting a comment saying "oh u think ur brave" will make any difference, people who hunt rabbits have as much a right to do so as you have to decide not to, but its pathetic if you think ur comments on this will make any difference,
i agree with the person who said its only the people from the city who complain, ye have no idea, its not bugs bunny being hunted its a rabbit, 1 of hundreds of millions,so relax and stop being pathetic

You'll just have to see what your rifle likes, but start (and probably finish) with a few brands of standard-velocity hollow points.
