According to The Book of Revelation, Satan was cast out at the time of Jesus' birth. Although he's mentioned several times in the Old Testament, It's clear that he was still on speaking terms with God until...

Rev 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
Rev 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Rev 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Hope this helps.

Adam & Eve were invented perhaps during the Egyptian captivity by Moses who is said to have written the first 5 books in the Bible. The Devil is not in them at all. A serpent, not a devil, tempts Eve. It is definitely a serpent. Read that part and see. God must do the Devil's work, e.g. hardening a nameless pharoah's heart in Exodus. The Devil appeared first during the Persian Captivity and is copied from Ahriman the evil god of Zoroastrianism.

According to the Bible, Satan and 1/3 of the Angels start a war in heaven during the "end times" recounted in the Book of Revelation. Revelation 12:7. Either the events in Revelation have already happened, or the war in heaven has not yet come to pass.

Revelation 12: 7And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

It is later in the Book of Revelation that the Devil is cast into the lake of fire......

The Devil is NOT in hell right now. He is in heaven.

Your question is one of the best i have ever read on this forum, bar none.
People, even Church-going Christians, seem to have their timelines all screwed up. The Book of Revelation spans over a very great amount of time, and then zooms in to capture the final generation of this flesh age.
Satan will be booted out of Heaven and onto Earth IN THE FUTURE to where we are now. He will come performing miracles, and disguised and pretending to be Jesus Christ himself. Anti in the Greek means "instead of", not Against as many think. He will come "instead of" Christ. Antichrist.
That event did not happen yet.
What did happen was that Satan caused a great war, way back BEFORE YOU READ OF ADAM AND EVE.

There are three earth ages spoken of in Scripture. If a person does not understand the three earth ages, then they will be hard-pressed to understand the timelines in the pages they read in Scripture. You can read of all three of the ages in second peter, Chapter 3.

In the first earth age, you can read in the Book of Job where we were all very happy souls, living right here on earth.
Then Satan rebelled and caused a great war, and a third of our people followed him (yes, all of us were souls created then and living right here on this same Earth).
Besides the third who followed Satan, others of us stayed neutral thru that war - didn't care as long as it didn't affect them (whats new). Then there was a group who stayed loyally on Gods side and Satan was defeated.
God at that point could have destroyed all those who followed Satan, but frankly, God wasn't all too happy with those who stayed neutral, either. God could have killed off the whole bunch, but had another plan instead:
God destroyed that Earth Age that was (not the earth, not the terrafirma, only the AGE was destroyed). How long the Earth sat still in that voided form is not written, but this was the plan:
Each soul would come thru a SECOND Earth age, in the flesh, born of woman, to make an ultimate decision of who they would choose to follow. To make the plan work, God promised not to interfere AT ALL in the free will decision of the individual. When people ask why God doesn't stop a child rapist or a nut from ramming a plane into a building, thats why - HE PROMISED NOT TO INTERFERE. We were all present at this plan-making, and we all agreed to it.
Also, since there isn't any use in choosing between good and good, Satan is although already condemned to death, still around, because he is being used as our compartitor.

This flesh age is for choice, and the entire reason it is necessary is because of what happened back before Adam and Eve, in the last earth age, during that war that Satan started. We live in the Second of the Earth Ages. The third and final Earth age will be the last one, and thats why we call it the "eternity".
This AGE is a very small parenthesis in our actual real lives.
Birth opens the parenthesis, and death closes it. Everything a soul does or says is being recorded for "court".

When reading the Book of Revelation, if you do not understand one single verse, you will not understand any of the rest of that Book: It is Chapter 1, verse 10. John is taken IN THE SPIRIT to the Lords Day, which is the day that Christ returns back to us, and ushers in a 1000-year period
of teaching, also called the millinium. (a day with God is as a thousand years with man). So when you read Revelation, you need to understand from what perspective you are seeing the whole thing - John is taken to that day future to where we are now, and he is shown what happened before that day, and what would occur after that day. So if you read Revelation and not understand from what perspective you are seeing these events, you will have your timelines in a real mess. Revelation spans thru the last earth age, telling of Satans rebellion and even about the system of Government he had set up; then it speaks of this earth age, where Satan will come as Antichrist, and even continues thru the next, or final of the ages to come.

One final note: When you read in Genesis 1, you are not reading of the first creation of this Earth - far from it. What is being described is God rejuvinating this earth after that last earth age was destroyed - so that flesh could inhabit the earth for this second earth age. The manuscripts do not say that the Earth WAS void and without form, but that the Earth BECAME VOID AND WITHOUT FORM. How did it become that way? From God destroying that age that was after the rebellion and war of Satan in the last age.
Timelines are very important in Scripture, and its too bad that they are not taught. I think that may be because many Churches do not have someone onboard their staff who is
able to handle the manuscripts and the languages. Whatever the reason, the sad result is that alot of people think there
are contradictions and inconsistancies in Scripture because of it, and thats a real shame, because with the proper foundation of truth with regard to reading Scripture, the entire Book would flow like honey. Its sad, really.

I would place the fall of Satan after man was created.

Some evidences of this:

All the Angels rejoiced at the creation of the earth:

What supports its foundations? Or who laid its cornerstone while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Job 38:6-7

Everything was good at the end of the 6th day:

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Evening came, and then morning: the sixth day.
Genesis 1:31

Satan was perfect in Eden:

You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every kind of precious stone covered you: carnelian, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and emerald. Your mountings and settings were crafted in gold; they were prepared on the day you were created. You were an anointed guardian cherub, for I had appointed you. You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the fiery stones. From the day you were created you were blameless in your ways until wickedness was found in you. Through the abundance of your trade, you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I expelled you in disgrace from the mountain of God, and banished you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud because of your beauty; For the sake of your splendor you corrupted your wisdom. So I threw you down to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.
Ezekiel 28:13-17
