Microsoft released Vista too soon, they rushed it out because of the competition, they're bringing out a new os in two years time called Vienna...I bet you that it's Vista under another name but without all the bugs...stick with XP Microsoft will continue to support it until 2011...and by that time you'll probably need a new computer anyway...so you'll have Vienna installed as standard.

Yes you will be able to still use it.. Vista is great I have it also... Just make sure you have 1gb of ram.. but other then that vista is perfect I would do it if I were you becuase one day every thing is going to be just for vista mainly.. Don't let the dumb people tell you that vista is bad they just don't have it and they are just saying what they have heard from others.. Well I hope you have a good rest of the week.. Good luck!!

Why do you want to upgrade? Vista will slow down your computer, not to mention make a lot of your software incompatible. Graphics card drivers for Vista are shotty at best.
If I had another OEM licensed version of Windows XP, I would wipe my Vista laptop as soon as I can (and that thing is running on a Core 2 Duo with a gig of RAM!)
Stick with what you have, honestly.

Don't bother. Personally I think Microsoft put Vista out to early,. I have heard some people complain bitterly about the number of times they have gotten the blue screen of death. One person i know said his system locked up every time he would go to the task pane of Excel. When he backed off Vista and restored his system to XP he had no troubles what so ever.

firstly windows 2000 doesn't work good and proper. secondly i have had vista since day one installed and running on a computer bought for £650 October 2005 and besides from a small memory upgrade for £30. one problem with vista so far and that was because of me messing about with settings. don't listen to people who tell you it doesn't work because they have never used it or read reviews from other people and never try it.
it all depends on how your computer racks up in its specification. try before ripping it apart. like i say one problem on a semi old computer and if anything its faster than xp on various things. it won't be good on an old laptop though because of power requirments.people who have't used it should be quiet or try it

No, office 2k won't work on Vista. but, neither will office 2003 either without upgrades.
office 2007 all the way baby! (but NOT for me)
Don't install vista on your box, you'll regret it.

yes of course. but you should get office2007 (this is what i use +vista). even office 97 will be able to run it but it's 10 years ago's programme though...
if u go legit copy of office 2007 get the upgrade since it's cheaper. if you go illegal i cant help you there; google can :)
