Perhaps, as Christ said "by their fruits ye shall know them."

Is the person kind? How do they treat others?

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1638065,00.html?cnn=yes Check out this about Presidential Cantidate Mitt Romney. If he treats the family pet like this, I can't wait to see what he'd do with the rest of us...

If this leader gets his wisdom from Scripture.....and puts into use what he preaches.........and he is a born-again Christian

Then I would consider him a Godly leader

right now I have a boss who is the following:

kind, gentle, wise, fair, clever, smart, learned, knowledgeable, loving, astute and fun

and bonus: He loves the Lord

in short - he is a godly man. I would trust everything about him (and I am a very discerning woman).

We work in a school where he is the principal and I, the office manager. He always has time for whomever crosses the doorstep, whether an elderly visitor, teacher or the youngest student.... I have yet to see him turn anyone away no matter what he is doing. He gives everyone his full attention. People from all over the region come to visit him.
I've never seen anything like it.
I am very blessed to be able to work with him

blessings :)

The Mormons believe we all lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father, several Heavenly Mothers, and 20 Billion Heavenly Siblings before we were born here on Earth. Then there was a war. The good guys won and were born White. The bad guys lost and became demons. Those who were neutral or did not fight bravely were born with non-white skin. The bravest of the brave were born to Mormon families.

We all know that Romney must have been a "Valliant Warrior" in the "War in Heaven" during the "Pre-Existence". How else could he have been born "White and Delightsome" to an LDS family here on Earth? Heck, he was probably one of the Commanding Generals . Now , America needs a President with valuable military experience like that to get us through our war in Iraq. Could you please ask "The One and Only True Prophet", Gordon Hinkley, to please release those valuable records to the public? We need to know what battles he fought in. How many medals he won. How many of the "Less Valliant Soldiers" he recommended being born with black skin when they got their chance to be born on Earth. Was Al Sharpton one of THEM ? How about Jesse Jackson? Mormons, this is your chance to show the world the light of the everlasting gospel. Dont miss out. We have General Romney running for president of the USA and we need you badly right now!

Who wants a "godly" leader? Bush reckons he's a devout man, and look at the mess he got you into in Iraq, Afghanistan etc, all because of a war on "terror" (ie, protecting US interests in Islamic states). Look at the way he has dropped the ball on domestic policy. His domestic policies have increased the marginalisation of significant portions of the USA's population. How christian is that?

Some of your best leaders were atheists, or deists at best. Payne and Jefferson for starters. These men are revered for their rationalism, vision and actions, but they were not "godly". Grant was "godly", and a god awful President who spent most of his term drunk. Teddy Roosevelt was a great wartime leader, but scarcely "godly".

From the viewpoint of a non-American, I would far rather see a rational leader who relied on the advice of recognised experts than a "godly" man who listened to sycophantic religious leaders with no concept of federal policy. We may have a chance of seeing a sane USA re-emerge on the world stage rather than the nation voted by the rest of the world as being the greatest threat to world security on earth.

You won me at "turning water into Pinot Noir".
I may well become a devotee, at this rate.
If your profile is anything to go by, then I think I've found my perfect idea of a leader - one who has already told me how godly they are. I do so hate to have to think for myself.
As to the Presidential candidate, and I do hope you appreciate the joke, it sounds like that's one Mitt who's a bit heavy handed.
Lovely chatting with you.

I think they should give Romney a 12 hour ride in the rooftop dog carrier.

I agree, a "godly" leader (although I'm not a fan of the term) would be someone who would line up with Biblical ideals.

This just gives me another reason to dislike Romney. As if his chameleonism wasn't enough. (And that's a perfectly cromulent word, thank you.)

I have no intention of voting for Romney, but surely a story about an event 25 years ago hardly impacts the current race.
