he's already had a trial and released. my father was lying in the bed sleep (the suspect's mother's bed). he just didn't like the fact the our parent were dating. the news paper article stated that he said he did it because my father was "messing with him".
it happened in sheffeild alabama 07/03/2005. i printed an article from the news paper online.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but you don't give enough details for anyone to answer your question properly.

Without further details, there are many, many, many possibilities why he got away with it.

If he admitted to it to police, he may have said that the police intimidated him into a confession and it was thrown out of court.

He was not cautioned prior to the stament being taken by police or was not allowed to contact a lawyer

The person who heard your father say who did it was a career criminal and hated the accused and was found not to be credible in court.

The police did not obtain a search warrant to get the gun that was in the shooter's house when he showed them and the evidence was tossed because it was an "illegal" search. He could have said that he felt intimidated and did not consent to the search.

One thing I have learned in my years as a police officer, it is not the evidence that is on trial in court, it is the police investigation. If the investigation is flawed/not complete it may end up with a non-conviction.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your father, and I can understand your frustration and anger. I don't know enough about the circumstances of the case. Do you mean he was a convicted felon who was let out to commit another crime, when he shouldn't have been released, or do you mean that he has gotten away with killing your father, and was let go? Also, is this a case in the UK or US, as the laws are VERY different.

***To Wis G.....your sensitivity astounds me, this person has just lost a loved one and is looking for answers! What in the hell does spelling have to do with the question? And since you asked, it is called English for a reason, it is the ENGLISH language, and therefore the ENGLISH spelling that is correct. You Yanks think you own the bloody world.

OMG...I am so sorry honey. I would give almost anything to be able to answer your question correctly. He admited to it & showed where the gun was hid??? I don't know what to say except...That's the system that some Police Stations go by & it's a real, terrible and screwed up system to hon. Again...I am so sorry this happened to your Father. God Bless you and your family during these trying and terrible times. Take care & let me know if you get a true answer, Ok?

There are so many issues associated with this sad case of misjustice.

Lack of law enforcement on the streets due to poor pay.

Overcrowded prisons because people refuse to pay higher taxes for GOOD reasons like more prisons rather than the ones supported by greedy politicians.

Crooks being given more rights than law abiding citizens based upon families crying about the injustices of the laws for their "poor babies who are innocent."

Lawyers seeking any and every "loophole" to get their clients off on technicalities even though there is no reasonable doubt to their guilt.

I seem to sense that the American public is somewhat waking up to some of the nonsense but theres a long road ahead before the good people regain the control of where we should be.

You have my heartfelt condolences about your father and my prayers for a better future while your father guides you from above!

Hell don't listen to the lawyers for the most part all they want is money, I'm a convected felon, two counts of second degree murder, and one count of mutilation of a body. (Murder counts happened outside the other count happened inside). How he's getting away with it I'd like to know. There was less evidence then that and my butt was sent away for 28 years. 9 more added when I was inside.

Wis g
Defence is spelt with a c, it is the Americans that decided they would spell it alternatively from the correct way hence the language being called English and not American.
That's twice now

There is more going on then you are saying. If the felony plead guilty as you are implying he must be doing time. Give us more details. Has there been a trial yet? Are there circumstances you have not mentioned?

the only way to beat a body is a technicality, some evidence somewhere was lost or inadmissible.in real life cops are slovenly sloppy evidence finders and keepers not like you see on csi.

If any new relevant information is found or comes up, a case may be reopened.

Then there are higher courts that you can turn to.
