Do I need to do a system recovery?

Question

since yesterday when I access the internet @ home my computer has a red box coming up doing a count down. What do you do when it's not letting me run a full system scan?

Try starting Windows in Safe Mode (press F8 just before Windows begins to load and then select Safe Mode in the list). Try running a scan then.
