The chastity ring that I wear is a religious symbol because of the ceremony that goes into it. I made a promise to God, my family, my future wife and the church that I would stay pure until marraige, then I wear the ring where my wedding band will go to show others that I am already symbolicaly married to my wife even if I don't know who she is yet. To me, my ring is a symbol of my religion, but only because I made it so, it is not intrinsically religious because of what it is, but because of what I made of it.

Chastity rings are not necessarily religious symbols. You do not have to be religious to believe that it is better to wait until marriage to have sex. An atheist could decide that waiting until marriage is the best choice for herself.

Nope, i don't believe they constitute a religious symbol. They may well be symbolic to the individuals wearing them but not necessarily to the religion involved. Give it a thousand years though and the answer may well be different.

They can be, but the motivation gives the meaning, doesn't it?
I doubt it is merely a fashion thing. There is a purpose behind it.
