Coffee has never prevented me from sleeping ~ I can drink a cup or two at night at dinner and go right to bed. It does give me a "little buzz" though to get going. I drink only about 3-4 cups a day, usually in the early morning. Different people are affected differently by caffeine.
Try making the coffee stronger.
If you really need a kick ~ try Red Bull or the energy drinks that are out now. If sleeping is not a problem, you can drink as much and whenever you want.

So, don't drink it. If you are only drinking it for the caffeine kick then stop drinking it. The problem with caffeine (and sugar) is that you get that kick but then you fall and end up feeling worse then you did before the caffeine. I used to drink 2 cups a day and felt like I couldn't make it without those 2 cups. I quit drinking coffee a few months ago and I don't get tired as much and I don't have to worry about caffeine withdrawal headaches if I miss a cup.

I used to be that way when younger but as I am older now it is the opposite. Something else could be going on with you. Wouldn't hurt to visit your Dr. and get checked out. Even though you feel it doesn't give you the energy that it used to you really don't want to increase consumption because too much will cause many unwanted problems. Good luck.

Is the issue that you're tired all the time? You may have an issue with low iron, thyroid or another problem such as an allergy. Go to the dr. and ask for bloodwork for these issues. Are you thirsty all the time? Get checked for diabetes as well. All are simple and inexpensive tests.

Sounds more like you need more quality sleep. If you wake up tired after eight hours, you may have a condition called sleep apnea....discuss a sleep study with your doctor.

Try this new fangled thing called 5 hour energy. They work pretty well and can be found at your local gas station or maybe GNC. Theyre pretty strong and you dont have the "downer" effect long after.

stop drinking for a few days. once you remove all of the caffeine from your system, you will feel the difference again. you're addicted, take it away, go through withdrawl, start again, feel the surge!
