I'm not sure if 2.4KM is consider a 1.5miles run BUT

I'll be running on this coming Saturday.

I tried running around the park and ended up resting after the second round. Half way through the 1st round, I couldn't breathe through my nostrils and had to breathe through my mouth which tired me out. On the second round, my chest felt as if someone set a fire on it. It was terrible.

I'll be running tomorrow again (hopefully this can make my run much more easier because I'm running 3 consecutive days.)

I was wondering, would this allow me to run faster/easier on Saturday morning?

*I want to build stamina as well, so that I wont feel breatheless easily.

Thanks!

It is helping let you know what your level is right now and what kind of pace to run Saturday. Don't run on Friday. Give your body the day off and just stretch on Friday.

Try breathing through your mouth from the start. It may help you keep from getting as tired.

As far as making the race easy on yourself, you shouldn't run on Friday, stay hydrated and go for a bike ride. you will still get the exercise, and that will help, but you will use different muscles in different ways so you won't be tired. Its only 2.5km so you will probably be running for less than 18 min, but eating right and staying hydrated will help tremendously. Breathing through you mouth is the most efficient way to breath, so that's a good thing. As far as feeling like someone put a tire on your chest, that's because you are working your breathing muscles much harder than they are used to.

I applaud your effort to get ready for the run. However, the work you do this week won't make a huge difference in Saturday's run. It will help, but not a whole lot. It takes weeks or months to really get in shape.

My advice for race day is start out slowly and save your energy until you get past the half way mark. And if you have to walk, do walk, don't quit.

You'll do fine.

Its too close. You should have prepared at least 2 weeks. Anyway if you want to run do it little by little to build your stamina. Take stamina enhancing vitamins and much vit C juices.

think about this. ever seen a boxer fight . the biggest part of a boxers stamina... to do this he lifts weights spars and runs but there are other things that will affects a boxer that will take him out early in a fight. loosing his air. or he can't breath. they need to breath .. allergys play a big role in out door running and loosing you air or can't breath. your in trouble .. you may try nassil spray to open up nassil passage. this will give back the air you loose to allergys. boxers use this a lot and its not drugs or allergy pills. next pace your self dont try to start and stay with the leaders they will tire fast and then just pick up the pace and pass them . think of a fast beat song that you like and play it in you head or hum it. and please don't forget to breath..

It is a good start, but you should really train more in advance to notice a difference. It takes a while to get your body into shape. Good luck, though, and keep running!
