Absolutely. You'd be amazed how quick, especially at a young age, 30 minutes of exercise every day will melt off excess fat. It's probably the best excercise available, since you won't get too bored, it's not too 'tough,' and it does everything running can. Your belly fat will slide off in no time. Usually after a week or two, you'll see a difference, plus you'll feel healthier, you'll sleep better, you'll gain some confidence...
There's nothing walking will do that's bad. It's great!

You are a teenager, that's makes losing weight easier than when you are older. Of course, that is provided you get the right diet for yourself.

I lost up to 2 pounds every 2 weeks. And I walked too, an hour at least, at 6km/hr. My tummy fats were the first to go, then fats all over my body.
I didn't lose weight all the way, but I eventually lost 14 kg / 31 pounds by end of year 1. Don't try to lose weight too fast, you may end up with sagging skin.

walking is the perfect exercise, but you need to raise your heart rate so if you are only walking for thiry minutes, be sure you walk rapidly. A balanced diet that doesn't exceed 1200 calories a day, 2 liters of water a day, and you should be able to tone up and lose that tummy in about three months.
