Part of it is about location -- Vegas, Calie, & Miami have services.
Part of it is about orientation: Is he straight, bi or gay? Straight guys aren't in high demand and the women who want them tend to be old, ugly or into fetishes that are too strange to talk about with their partners. Gay guys tend to get a lot more business.
If he isn't gay and has a nice body, he might want to consider stripping or masturbation via web cam. (At most web-cam outfits, clients are men, but he won't see them and they won't see the straight porn that he's using to get aroused so he can masturbate.) An upside to both these options are that they're legal and a hell of a lot safer than having sex with anonymous partners.

Just put a advert in the local paper say ' male escort available for outings, theatre and more' and see what happens. In Spain you regularly see this type of advert from both sexes, they are not so blinkered here.

You see adverts asking for potential escorts in the newspapers from time to time. They usually include a contact telephone number.

ask him if he would be willing to date men, as that is where he would be going on his dates through a service, I ran escort services for 15 years and can only think of half dozen times I sent a male escort to a woman

Actually, it's not illegal. It's fine for two adults to make an arrangement like that - what's illegal is soliciting (ie going out in the street looking for business).
Other than that, I wouldn't know. Is he good looking, your friend?

Male escorts get a lot of money but you get a lot of ugly woman. Think about it, only women who cannot get men use them.

It is legal to be an escort aslong as there is no sex involved. There will be escort agencies online or in the phone book. He will need to be good looking and good to get on with etc.
