In your kitchen cabinet, you've probably got a spray
bottle with an adjustable nozzle. If you twist the nozzle
one way, it sprays a fine mist into the air. You twist
the nozzle the other way, it squirts a jet of water
in a straight line. You turn that nozzle to the exact
position you want so you can wash a mirror, clean up
a spill, or whatever.
If the universe had expanded a little faster, the
matter would have sprayed out into space like fine
mist from a water bottle - so fast that a gazillion
particles of dust would speed into infinity and never even
form a single star.
If the universe had expanded just a little slower, the
material would have dribbled out like big drops of water,
then collapsed back where it came from by the force
of gravity.
A little too fast, and you get a meaningless
spray of fine dust. A little too slow, and the whole
universe collapses back into one big black hole.
The surprising thing is just how narrow the difference
is. To strike the perfect balance between too fast and
too slow, the force, something that physicists call
"the Dark Energy Term" had to be accurate to one part in
ten with 120 zeros.
If you wrote this as a decimal, the number would
look like this:
0.000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000
0000000000000000000000000000001
In their paper "Disturbing Implications of
a Cosmological Constant" two atheist scientists
from Stanford University stated that the existence of
this dark energy term "Would have required a miracle...
An external agent, external to space and time, intervened
in cosmic history for reasons of its own."
Just for comparison, the best human engineering
example is the Gravity Wave Telescope, which was built with
a precision of 23 zeros. The Designer, the 'external
agent' that caused our universe must possess an intellect,
knowledge, creativity and power trillions and trillions
of times greater than we humans have.
Absolutely amazing.
Now a person who doesn't believe in God has to find
some way to explain this. One of the more common explanations
seems to be "There was an infinite number of universes, so it
was inevitable that things would have turned out right
in at least one of them."
The "infinite universes" theory is truly an amazing theory.
Just think about it, if there is an infinite number of
universes, then absolutely everything is not only possible...
It's actually happened!
It means that somewhere, in some dimension, there is
a universe where the Chicago Cubs won the World Series last
year. There's a universe where Jimmy Hoffa doesn't get
cement shoes; instead he marries Joan Rivers and becomes
President of the United States. There's even a
universe where Elvis kicks his drug habit and still
resides at Graceland and sings at concerts. Imagine
the possiblities!
I might sound like I'm joking, but actually I'm dead
serious. TO BELIEVE AN INFINITE NUMBER OF UNIVERSES MADE LIFE POSSIBLE BY RANDOM CHANCE IS TO BELIEVE EVERYTHING ELSE I JUST SAID, TOO.
Some people believe in God with a capital G.
And some folks believe in Chance with a Capital C.
Peace and blessings!

The concept of "God" is an idea. An idea is something that exists. Therefore, if only as a concept or idea, "God" exists.
As to whether or not there is an old man with a long white beard on a golden throne in the sky, that is another matter. And science can't prove or disprove the existence of a supernatural god because no test can be devised to measure the existence of the supernatural. Science has its limits too.

There is no such thing as absolute proof of anything, since we only have the information our senses provide to us. But I would say it's very difficult to refute that God exists, not just "because he does," or any other pat answer. To deny that He exists would be to consign everything you see around you as pure chance. For example, there is a number that the Greeks called the "Golden Mean," or the perfect ratio. It shows up again and again in nature, even in the spiral shape of a seashell. It would be hard to argue that this ratio comes up over and over again in so many different types of life, without some form of plan. And it would be hard to argue that we were just lucky to come about when we did after the plants started to grow and produce enough oxygen for us to live on.
When I was a little girl, I had a brain abscess. There was no treatment for it at the time, beyond radical surgery. I was in a coma for 4 weeks before they finally ruled out anything else, and prepared for surgery. They performed an EEG, which showed the abscess, but it was a little fuzzy, so they set me up for an angiogram the next day. They were going to wheel me straight into surgery, but when they got the results back, they were amazed--the abscess had literally disappeared overnight. Normally, if an abscess opens, it will overpower the body and kill the person. Somehow this one developed a slow leak, and my body was able to absorb it. I'm not a particularly religious person, but no one can tell me a miracle didn't occur that night.

Generally "facts" are "proved" or defined two different ways, through the scientific method or a court of law.
The scientific method "proves" a fact concerning a "thing".
The scientific method can only establish a probability concerning a "being" such as a person or an animal.
Courts are used to "prove" facts concerning "beings".
Courts, and the scientific method have specific rules. These rules are very different.
Since you have not defined a set of rules I must assume that you are using proof acceptable in a Court of Law since your question concerns a being, God.
Since eyewitness testimony and circumstantial evidence are admissible in a Court of Law I can therefore prove God exists very easily.
I have met Jesus Christ in person. Since Jesus Christ cannot exist without God existing, God must exist. This is both Eyewitness and Circumstantial Evidence which proves the existence of God.
Unless you can prove perjury the fact stands in evidence to be decided by a jury.
Let us use the entire world as a jury.
The majority of people in the world are either Christians, Jews or Muslims and all of these believe in a Monotheistic God, the God of Abraham.
You might not get them to all agree that they worship the same God, but, they each believe individually that they worship the God of Abraham.
The jury is in, evidence is accepted. God does exist.

If you have no faith why bother asking this question? If you dont think he exists then go talk to a pastor or a christian or read the Bible. athiests dont exist because God doesn't believe in them. If you will think about it other than athiesm alot or the majority of religions are based on Christ in some way or another anyway. Or for the devil worshipers that don'e believe in Christ... Satan believes in God because he's seen him..what does that say about them?Even the non- believers have a reason to believe. Find a friend or somone that goes to church. You will find most of your answers there. Good Luck

i can prove you that god doesn't exist. But don't you think that even saying that god doesn't exist, kind of prove that he/she does? Otherwise why would we even argue about it? Whatever exists as a word, or in the mind, exists as an entity.

True faith is: fact by definition. Therefore ,because I have faith, it is a fact that he does indeed exist. It doesn't really matter rather someone can prove to a non believer or not.
Corinthians 1:18-19
For the message of the cross is foolishness to the ones who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For it is written
I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate
There is no such thing as luck
God Bless

1: Science gives us a way to distinguish between good ideas and bad ideas - i.e. to show which explanation is the most consistent with observable reality. Science shows us that great complexity does not just arise spontaneously. It is inconceivable that even the simplest bacterium could exist without something being responsible for the complexity of its structure, its biochemistry and so on. It would take the lifetimes of a billion universes for it to appear spontaneously, by pure chance - in fact it is probably safe to say that it simply could never happen. This goes all the more for human beings. It's surely no coincidence that the only thing that we regard as truly intelligent - the human brain - is also the most complex thing in the known universe. Intelligence requires enormous complexity, far beyond anything that could conceivably exist without something being responsible for its existence. By the same reasoning, it's infinitely more unlikely still that an intelligent entity capable of designing and creating an entire universe and everything in it could just exist from nowhere, from nothing, without anything being responsible for its existence. Complexity, and especially the massive complexity required for intelligence, can therefore only arise from an antecedent, non-intelligent process - In the case of life on Earth, this means biological evolution, a fact which is attested to by a vast amount of real objective evidence and valid argument. So, to the extent that science allows us to reliably distinguish between plausible ideas and implausible ideas, it effectively rules out the possibility of an intelligent entity as the uncaused cause of everything that exists.
2: We've known for thousands of years that the 'tri-omni' gods of classical monotheistic religions cannot exist. If an omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent deity existed, then human evil could not exist. Since human evil unarguably does exist, the classical monotheistic deity cannot exist (objections about 'free will' notwithstanding).
3: Quantum Mechanics strongly suggests that nothingness is a state that cannot exist in reality, since that would be 100% deterministic, and QM says that existence is probabilistic rather than deterministic. Experimental evidence supports QM. If true, then this also precludes the existence of a creator, since it would be impossible to have a state of 'nothingness' from which a 'something' could be created.
4: David Hume proved that moral values are subjective - i.e. they describe a person's response to events, rather than objective properties of events themselves. Since morals are personal and subjective, there cannot be an external, objective source of moral values - Indeed, the idea is simply incomprehensible. Therefore, any god which is claimed to be the objective source of moral values cannot possibly exist. This includes the gods of most monotheistic religions, by their usual definitions.
5: Argument from design: If everything was designed by an intelligent creator then we would have no basis for identifying things that clearly *are* designed (things made by human beings) since we would have no non-designed (i.e. natural) things to compare them with. Therefore the natural world (everything that has not been designed by humans) must be non-designed, and therefore there can't be a designer god.
6: Anything that holds information or knowledge must be made of discrete parts, such as a brain (neurons and their connections) or a computer (memory locations). Anything that is made of parts cannot be self-existent - it must be made of something pre-existing. Therefore an intelligent entity cannot be self-existent and cannot be the source of everything that exists.

In Matthew Jesus said to the Devil "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God" Another translation has it as "Thou shalt not put the Lord thy God to the test."
The meaning of this can be taken as 'do not prove or test the validity of God'. Why would Jesus say this? I believe that to prove or disprove the existence of God are two sides of the same coin. That 'coin' would be man's desire to acquire knowledge that will give him power. Such knowledge would ultimately corrupt. It goes right back to the command to Adam and Eve to refrain from eating of the tree of Knowledge.
Asking for proof is just part of the fallen nature of man. And to give proof is just the same.
