its a soundstorm sdvd500

all the connections have been made but when i press the one button nothing shows up, the previous stero worked fine. im multimetered the ground and the 12v constant and 12v accessory and there fine. pretty sure its the correct connections but no way to know 100%. when i press the reset button on the cd player the display lights up but when i let go it goes back to black...displaying nothing. anyone with any ideas would be EXCELLENT

lol sorry bout the spelling mistakes, this silly laptop keyboard is giving me the poos as well as typing very quickly :-P

It sounds like you've done everything you can do. If the red and yellow wires both test with 12 volts on the multimeter, and the deck won't turn on, then it's defective. The fact that it lights up when you press "reset" means that it's not a blown fuse.

Go to an auto elec and get the connections checked, if every thing is ok then take the stereo back to where you bought it for exchange or refund.

You either have your connections backwards or already blew a fuse inside the unit. Check it out.
