you can begin weaning them at 4 weeks.
the way I usually do this is when they turn 4 Weeks old the night before I take mom away ( they can go the night without food) in the morning you give them food This is how I make it
get a good quality puppy food ( I use Purina one puppy) and moisten it with water an make it like a soup consistency. Give it to them you will need to put there Little mouths in the food and if they don't take to it put a little on your finger and put in there mouth to give a taste. ( don't worry if they all don't start right away) give them about 15 minutes to eat and then let mom in she can eat what is left and nurse them to fill them up. Do this at about 2 feedings a day. mo m can nurse at afternoon and then remove and feed them mush before bed and let mom feed them and then remove for the night.
at 5 weeks make it thicker and start 3 feedings. At six weeks make it just slightly soft and leave hard food down so they can pick at it and start leaving water. At 7- 71/2 weeks they should be on plain solid food.
they should stay with mom for 8 weeks mom and siblings will teach them dogie manners from 6-8 weeks and they can start vaccines and worming at 6-8 weeks.
Good Luck

Around 4 weeks usually. Why are you breeding though?

Also, the very worst food you can give any dog is Bakers Complete. Its a known cause of hyperactivity, skin conditions, behavioural problems, even aggression, because its FULL of artificial colouring and e. numbers. Honestly, this food should be taken off the market, its the cause of around 70% of all undesirable behaviour in dogs that have been taken to training classes/behaviourists, once its disclosed what the dog is fed on and a diet change is implimented, the results are amazing. Avoid Bakers and go for either Nature Diet, Natures menu, or if it has to be a dry food, then Autarky, Arden Grange, Dr Johns or Walfco.

If they are just born they will only need mother's milk for a few weeks. After about 5 weeks offer them small amounts of a good brand puppy food softened with water to release the smell.

The whole process is natural and mother should know just when it's time by getting more annoyed with them nursing. They will also be naturally curious about their new food when you introduce it to them so it shouldn't be that difficult. But wait till about 5 weeks to even let them taste it.

You can start offering your puppies solid food (well-moistened) between 4 and 5 weeks. They will be eating solid foods well by 6-7 weeks. Let them stay with their mother for nursing until at least 8 weeks old. By then, she should have weaned them herself.

Puppies don't just start eating food. They need to be weaned. Generally this starts at around three weeks of age.
You need to read up on weaning.Go to these sites for some help:
