It sort of contradicts itself.

For - Genesis 1:14
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.
- Luke 21:25
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars.

Against - Isaiah 47:13-14
Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
- Deuteronomy 18:10-12
There shall not be found among you any ... that useth divination, or an observer of times.... For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD.

The Bible assumed that the stars and other celestial bodies are in fact heavenly beings. It was to downplay them that the author of Genesis 1 relegated their creation to the fourth day, and didn't even call the 'sun' and 'moon' by name (since they were names of divinities). In Matthew's story of Jesus' infancy, the wise men are led by a star, suggesting that those who have their heart in the right place can find truth in the stars while those who do not will fail to find it even in Scripture.

When the author of Colossians affirms that Jesus has been exalted above every power in the heavenly places, he presumably has the stars in mind. There was a widespread belief that the stars/angels ruled human destinies. The author of that letter (possibly Paul, but this is uncertain, as it may be an example of pseudepigraphy) wants to affirm that Christians are not under the sway of the stars, but of one who has been exalted above the stars.

Finally, neither astrology nor the authors of the Bible knew what we do now, that stars are suns and that all of them are balls of gas undergoing nuclear fusion. There is no reason I can think of for worshipping them or believing they control your destiny in light of all we know nowadays!

Isaiah 47:13-14: All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm anyone; here is no fire to sit by.

There are many other scriptures about astrology/witchcraft, and interpreters of omens. How anyone (even those who don't know the Bible very well) can misinterpret God's word on this issue is beyond me:

Deuteronomy 4:19: "Be careful that you don't worship the sun, moon, and stars."

"Star signs" and the Bible are nonsense.

The sun, moon, planets and stars are real. I suggest that you buy a telescope or a pair of binoculars and a good book on astronomy and enjoy the wonders of the universe.
