Senate Immigration Reform Bill Takes Step Toward the Grave

WASHINGTON — The fragile immigration reform bill crafted in the Senate faces sudden death Thursday when a second vote is scheduled to shut down a filibuster.

If supporters don't get the 60 votes they need to end debate, then the bill is dead since the Senate schedule does not allow any more time to revive the legislation.

In an unusual admission, two leadership aides — one Democrat, one Republican — told FOX News that they have no idea how the vote will go. Vote-counting is something that is normally down to a science in the Senate chamber. The vote to end debate, called "cloture," is expected at 10:30 a.m. ET.

"Enough is enough. There have been seven cloture votes I've voted yes on. This is an extraordinary circumstance. But enough is enough. ... This clay pigeon is looking like a dead duck," Nelson said.

I don`t think it`a a case of denial ! I would use the illustration of a child testing the patience of the parent !! You have parents that will threaten punishment while the child is being disobedient , but never follows up with the action on the threat of the thrashing ! Good morning Dreaming, I watched the Senate debate yesterday on C-Span and Sessions opened up a can of whoop a@$ on Reid. I heard 3 senators that voted yes are switching to NO. The fat lady has not sung yet!!!!

Here is what I just don't understand: Why is this "new, improved" bill being shoved down America's throat, at the expense of enforcing the previously "new, improved" and supposedly "final" bill in 1986?

Why, after years of writing to elected officials about no enforcement, have America's representatives abandoned our laws?

GG, they failed to table an amendment that would piss us off even more. And by doing so, almost assured failure of the next cloture.

There will be no answer that pleases everyone, you will have to bite your lip and accept something far from perfect.
You chances of deporting all the illegals is zero
Your chances of securing your huge borders (and waters) is very low.
Make them legal and raise the penalty for being illegal.
