If the price is right and the mileage is low. The used hyundai warranty is 5year 60k so the warranty will be gone on it. You can find a base model 2007 Elantra for a little over 10k with a full 10 year 100k warranty. being an 00 it is about 8 years old, so it should have about 100k miles on it. (average) That is a bit much if you dont know anything about the car. Check out the consumer reports, edmunds, motor trend to see how Honda and Toyota is ranking against Hyundai...

You touched on the Hyundai / Honda war with this one.
Theres a reason Hyundai has a better warranty and a lower price than a Honda.
You need the warranty longer because you're gonna be fixing it more often than a Honda, because a Honda is built with more quality and lasts longer with fewer mechanical failures. I have a 10 year old Honda that has never needed more than a tune up.
My sister has an Elantra that is 8 years old and she just replaced the transmission for the second time.
If you spend the extra money for a Honda, you'll come out cheaper in the end when you count the fix it bills for the Hyundai. At least thats my experience.
Toyota's are also extremely reliable.
hmmm, canoe's are also a good item to have on hand. x-)

I used to drive the 2001 Accent w/5 spd and I loved them. They weren't power horses, but I could get up to 44mpg on open freeway with them often.
Yeah, they're cheaply made, but Hyundai also earned several #1 awards in recent years, there's a reason for that.
I loved the design. EAsy to use and drive. Not sure about the 00's, if they're like the 2001's. But I'd get a Hyundai myself again.

The accent is small, I like the Eelantra better .
To Honda people,
2007 civic $10,415 to 21,260 VS $14,810 to 14,015 for the ACCENT with a BETTER WARRENTY !!!!!!!!!!!.
The civic will NEVER hold a 7,000 dollar 50% higher resale

go to http://www.hyundaiperformance.com
and see if anyone there recommends that particular model of car.
I'm an Elantra owner but some people really love their Accents too!
Good luck with your decision
