does anyone know if an what of a free program that i can use to clean or speed up a second hand hp palivion?

laptop i really have no idea what i can delete an not delete. all i know it is very very slow for some reason . it is really slow at loading pages on the internet. i found some programs that say their free yea rite, free to download but not to use. is there any thing ican do to fix this laptop? my little sisters b-day is tommorow she will 13 and i would like to give it to her,since she has been beggin for one.but i'd like to try an get it working a little better. can anyone help me ?

to start with you can go in to control panal and remove soem applications which you don't need

also if you have the product recovery CDs and you don't have any data you need in the laptop you can do a clean new install..

any old laptop can do with a bit of new memory.

ill give you a fast solution considering you only got a day left:
go to start/control panel/add remove programs
and uninstall all the unecessary software on it - leave nothing but the antivirus if necessary :)- and restart your computer , it should become 200 percent faster .

delete all files and folders you dont think she would need like pics and sites, then download windows live one care to clean up the machine. do cookies scan disk and defrag too..if you can do a regrisrty cleaner that will help lots

disclean and defrag from windows xp system tools already on your computer.
if you have norton or macafee remove it avg is better faster and cheaper and will make the computer run faster by not using as much of the mechanics as norton does
