If we spend our money trying to save fetuses, then we can't spend it saving children that are already born. Over half of all fertilized eggs will die natural deaths, and of the number left, many will be aborted regardless of what the pro life movement says or does. Therefore spending money to save fetuses is a wasted investment more than half the time because of natural abortion. So when the pro life movement attempts to "save" a fetus they are using money that could better be used to save a child.
There is a limited supply of money to do good works. So if a dollar is taken to save a fetus then a dollar must be taken away from saving a child. Or the pool of money available drops so that no dollar is available to save a child.
So when we try to save a fetus, we fail 50% of the time because of natural abortion and each of those wasted dollars could have been used to save a natural child. YOUR CHILD COULD BE THE ONE THAT IS KILLED DUE TO THE WASTE OF THESE DOLLARS.

Parents do abort loved children, but pro lifers allow loved children to die so that unwanted fetuses can live. How would you like it if your child died to save a fetus that was not wanted? That is what this question asks.

The pro life movement is a billion dollar industry, and it wastes half that money "saving" fetuses that die naturally. And all that wasted money could have been spent saving children.

You need to read the parable of the talents. Jesus does not reward those who waste money. And trying to save a fetus that will die naturally 50% of the time is a waste of money. And each time you waste the money a child dies. How would you feel if it was your child killed to attempt to save a fetus that will die naturally? What does Jesus think about those who waste money and allow children to die?

I am shocked by those who think there is an unlimited supply of money in the world. -----
Why are there poor people that cannot feed and care for their children?

Rocky road--
So you will let 100 percent of the loved children die so that you can save 50% of the unwanted fetuses.

Most of what you say will lead to the death of loved and wanted children. So if you think what I write is a compliment from me you are wrong.

So it doesn't bother you that the pro life movement is responsible for the death of children, while trying to save fetuses?

Catholics believe that from the moment of conception until natural death, each human being is endowed by God with dignity and rights.
You shall not kill. (Ex 20:13; cf. Deut 5:17)
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. (Jer 1:5; cf. Job 10:8-12; Ps 22:10-11)
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. (Ps 139:15)
Early Church writings: You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. (Didache 2, 2: SCh 248, 148; cf. Ep. Barnabae 19, 5: PG 2, 777; Ad Diognetum 5, 6: PG 2, 1173; Tertullian, Apol. 9: PL 1, 319-320)
No attempt to save human life is ever wasted.
Placing any monetary value on a priceless human life hurts the human dignity of all.
With love in Christ.

There are problems with your argument. The pro-life movement doesn't try to stop natural miscarriages. Pro-lifers try to stop the unnecessary killing of the unborn. You also try to draw a distinction between a fetus and a child. What is so magical about the trip down the birth canal? The only difference between the unborn child and the born child is the stage of development. The only difference between you and the elderly nursing home resident is your stage of development.
One could always make the case that the multi-billion dollar abortion industry wastes money that could be better spent elsewhere. Furthermore, what of all the money that is wasted on potato chips, video games, movie tickets, candy, etc.? The same case could certainly be made that your candy bar is killing a child also. Finally, would you argue that PETA is killing children by spending money on animals?
And of course, the pro-life community is taking action to help families. That's why there are thousands of free pregnancy resource centers all across the country.
In conclusion, why are you so adamant that abortion is a cure-all? Do you work at an abortion clinic or are you trying to justify a past decision?

Why does anything worth saving have to be a money issue?Though I hear what you're saying. I agree if a person knows they are unable to bring a child into a proper life situation then it is more humane to abort the pregnancy. The pro lifers are only looking at a small piece of the picture and their own beliefs and agenda, but there are so many different circumstances and situations surrounding this issue that it's not that clear cut.

Sir, I'm sorry that your can even put a price on a human life. God gave my wife and I a gift of a daughter, we were neither supposed to be able to conceive. I was in the delivery room and was the first to hold her, and low and behold, there was not price tag on her toe or stamped on her butt.
The problem is that most all people forget that the act of love making IS meant for procreation. Although enjoyable in every aspect, when ever you participate in the act, there is always the chance of getting pregnant, not just the woman but the man also. It is meant to be a shared joy.
IN MY OPINION: Abortion is a flagrant disregard for human life. Babies are not meant to be throw-away items. God forgive every person that has killed/thrown away a gift from God. A friend of mine decided to abort a baby and the doctor botched the job, therefore she had to have an emergency Hysterectomy, and now she wants a baby so bad it has actually made her physically and mentally ill.

Matthew T,
I think he is hitting on the fact that even though the US is one of the top leaders in medical research it is NOT a top leader in healthcare ( including the child mortality rate ). He’s saying money spent on the campaign to end abortion could be put to use better if it were to help the children who have been born.
It is the pro-lifers money he is speaking of and nothing else. It is a good point. I find it VERY strange that the moneys spent on the pro-life movement far exceeds money spent on providing health care, education, food, shelter for the thousands of abandoned and orphaned children. Double standards never help a cause.

I must assume you serve a poor god, I do not, My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and every single life no matter how small is important and precious to him. With your math, maybe we should reconsider long term health care for the elderly, or disabled. Every dollar spent there is a dollar taken away from a young healthy person. Does that makes since to you as well? At what point does a person become "useless and unworthy of life" in your view.

just because natural abortion occurs sometimes doesn't give anyone the right to kill a baby because thats what it is. you can't control if your baby dies in you but you can control not purposly killing it. children who are already born , die all the time too , so does that mean that it's ok to kill other children who are already born. thats no one place to decide if a baby should die....born or not. and i don't see how that is possibly taking away from other children. that is a totally ridiclous statement.

Personally I think that any death on earth is a good one. Our planet is over populated already. And the number just keeps growing. One day everywhere will be like china is today. One day there will be no trees, or animals left to look at. Just greedy humans fighting for whats left of a planet that has little left to spare as it is. So I say, what will be, will be.

You make a good point. Many anti-abortionists attempt to abstruct aid for planned parenthood because they provide abortions but education about sex and contraception will prevent many unwanted pregnancies. Absintence only programs were given a chance and they have failed.

You have quite an unusual an intelligent observation. Most ppl do not have that at their disposal. Let it go, you are not being understood. However I think you have a point of view that's not been discussed before. I am pro choice, but was unable to get an abortion myself, it was wrong for me. Back to your ? I agree!
