Hey darl CONGRATULATIONS ! well my baby is 5 months old now. Its best to paint the nursery now, because you want all the fumes from the paint....all gone ! dont want little bubba breathing anything yukky in. I must admit i didnt pack my bag until my due date, than i unpacked and than packed etc etc.... But you should do it when you feel good and excited ! Dont do it too late cause you may forget to pack something. It gets so exciting hey ! Wow, i wanna be preggers again lol. I hope you are feeling good and i hope the labour and baby comes all nice and healthy. Good luck and best wishes :-)

Lemme think... If I recall correctly, we did it in October, and I was due in February, so it must've been about 25 or so weeks (unless my math is off. lol). I was really impatient to get it done, and my bf was procrastinating, so one day while he was at work I opened up the paint and started doing it myself. I'm not exactly the best painter, so I knew perfectly well that when he came home he'd immediately take over and it would get finished. lol.

We also did it soon because we were renting a 3-bedroom with my bf's sister and her husband, and she was due in November, so we had to have the 3rd bedroom, the nursury, ready for their baby as well.

As for the hospital bag, I think I began to pack it at about 30 weeks, just setting aside the things I knew I'd need there, but wouldn't need before, like the outfit I wanted the baby to come home in and such. I didn't pack the rest of it until about 38 weeks, and kept the bag of bathroom things in the bathroom so I could still use it at home. Turned out I needn't have bothered being so prepared, becase we ended up having to schedule a cesarean and I packed and re-packed the bag the night before at least 6 times. lol.

Good luck and congratulations!

Well my parents decorated our babies nursery and bought us all the stuff that goes in it as a congratulations gift last week and i am nearly 33 weeks pregnant. I have started writing the list for my hospital bag and will hopefully get it packed within the next couple of weeks, then hopefully i will have a few weeks to relax and stop worrying about things before our baby arrives - if everything goes to plan!

I've heard mixed things about painting during pregnancy, so I've avoided it. I did setup the entire nursery though.

:)

As for packing my hospital bag:
I did it at around 32 weeks.
The infant car seat still needs to go into the car, but my husband has procrastinated on it (they don't let you leave the hospital without one here).

I remember at 32 weeks I was very anxious; but now at 39 weeks, I'm tired and just want this to be over.

I want to meet the baby, and go back to being able to doing things like bending over to pick something up again!

I'm also ridiculously worried about things going wrong and am hoping that everything turns out ok when I do go into labor.

Thanks for the good luck! I wish the same to you. :))

2 ways of doing it.

1) You do it 6 months in advance and you can use any paint you want.

2) You use special 'baby room paint' and 2 weeks will be enough.

Baby-room was started when we got 'the news' and finished about 2 days before our baby came. The bag was a present from the prospect grandparents. We did ad our own stuff but basics were in the closet long before we needed to get all the stuff ready...you just keep thinking of good stuff to take.

I won't paint a nursery for my little girl cause we live in a rental and can't! It is a shame but oh well. As for packing my bag, since i live on a small island in alaska so I actually have to travel to another town to have the baby 2 weeks before my due date. So just feel lucky you just have to drive to the hospital!
