No your hair will grow out but in my opinion it dries the hair and causes split ends that you have to stay on top off with greater frequency. When your hair splits it appears lighter and therefore remains lighter looking even after you die over it!

It is permanent because bleaching isn't adding color to your hair as dying it would. Bleaching is the process of stripping away color. The only way to turn it around is to dye your hair- the bleach color won't fade away eventually like a dye would. The new hair, of course, would come out dark because you are only bleaching the exposed hair.

It doesn't change the color of the new hair growth.
It doesn't rinse out. It doesn't protect the hair from further damage, but makes it more vulnerable environmental assaults.
It can be further modified. Each further modification is likely to further injure the hair.
I don't intentionally bleach my hair. I attempt to minimize sun-bleaching and pool-chlorine effects.

Yes, once you bleach your hair it will stay that way unless you put another colour over the top of it.
(This can be quite damaging to the hair though.)

The only other option is to wait for it to grow out and you need a lot of patience for that!

Good luck!

I'm a swimmer at UCLA, and in order to be on the team we have to bleach our hair. Its not permanent when you bleach it.

yes, bleaching your hair removes (strips) all the natural pigments, which is the reason that your hair becomes lighter. the darker your hair, the more bleach it will take to strip the color. until your hair grows back from the roots, your hair will stay bleached.
