I notice when some muslims speak about their religion, when there is a name it is often followed with (pbuh)...what does that mean?

Brian, it's Peace Be Upon Him. Sometimes you might see (SAW) which is Salla Allah Alaihi Wasalam which is PBUH in Arabic. A star for you Brian.

PBUH means peace be upon him. We say this whenever we mention a prophet of God. It is like praying for Allah's peace and blessings upon his prophets and it's also a sign of respect. We also say 'alaihi salaam' which has the same meaning.

PBUH means peace be upon him .It is a prayer from muslims to Allah as we respect , love and honour to our Muhammad prophet..If we call Muhammad we should add pbuh or in arabic language sallah lahu alaihi wa salam or SAW..

Muslims respects all prophets. whereas some people try to make movies of Jesus pbuh and earn money.
