100% urban myth - no piercings set off metal detectors in airports (although if you're really paranoid, you could always change it to a plastic retainer). i have around 14 piercings, have travelled lots - and never set off the alarms (although if you have visible piercings and look alternative, you're more likely to get stopped for 'random checks')

I'm 14 and have my nose pierced and my ears 3 times. They've never gone off on a metal detector. But maybe you could wear one of them plastic belly bars?

I doubt it! My tongue is pierced and i was also worried about that cos mummy dearest would have a fit if she found out bout my tongue ring! But i flew about two weeks ago and nothing happened at the metal detectors! Relax sweety!

I have had piercings before and never have I set off a metal detector. Think about it, if earrings or an bra underwire don't set it off neither will your bellybutton.

i went to visit my friends bro in prison and my belly ring went off through their metal detector, best advice would be to buy a plastic belly ring for now so it wont go off when your at the air port
