I did't get to go to prom this year b/c my date said he got in trouble with his rents. he said something came in the mail and that he got into trouble with some legal stuff. what might this legal stuff be? what are rents?

I went to his house to ask him if he was going to prom. he said the tux was to expensive. but he works at a fast food place.

rents...paRENTS. It's parents, shortened. No way of knowing what the legal stuff could be without asking him.

When someone says legal they most likely mean [illegal]
and rents is short for paRENTS, it's a weird word i know but thats how we talk these days

rents are like when you use a house but you dont own it and probaly your date did not get to pay the time he was in his house which he rented.
