How long have you had your sore throat?? Are there any white spots in the back of your mouth?? Is it worse in the morning?? A good old fashion remedy is to gargle with warm, salt water @ least 4 times a day. Be sure to do it before you go to bed. Have you tried taking Tylenol?? Read the label as to tell you how often to take it. Usually, you can take two extra strength 3-4 times a day. Take it faithfully throughout the day and of course, before bed. If your sore throat continues for any longer than a week, contact your Doc. It may just be a viral thing, which basically, all you can do is let it run it's course. You can also try Chloroseptic throat spray, which kinda numbs the throat. You can purchase this over-the-counter. Good Luck !! I hope that this helps.

Sounds like you've gotten some good answers. The only thing I would suggest is that ice cream feels really good going down, just let it slide down your throat. Also, make sure that you have not come in contact with anyone that may have step throat, since that is so highly contagious and miserable.
If you've had it more then a few days, and you have a fever I would call my Doc and get tested swabbed for strep throat.
Hope you feel better.

Try gargling with salt water. Or, if you have any tequila or whiskey, or vodka you can take a shot and it will kill some of the bacteria.
You can also suck on a lemon, but you know... it's like sucking on a lemon.
These have all worked for me. I prefer the alcohol one, because even if it doesn't work, at least you won't care. (It does, though... )
Hope this helps!
