YOU did one of the best jobs of explaining the situation THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.....no one
ever gives any info and expects a brilliant answer...
I hope they learn from you...
1st thing you didn't mention though was.......who did the chestnut brown stage?
my suspicion is that it was done at home...with a BOXED KIT, am I right?
If so there is your problem....there is a tremendous difference in the colors in those boxes and what we use as Pro's ... There are hundreds of lines of color that you or anyone without a license is not allowed to even buy....& trust me as a chemist...they are made COMPLETELY different..
So without have a good product to begin with...its not going to react as well as what the celebs use.....they have every single step done professionally so the color they use on their hair is light years better than what is at your disposal in a boxed or home hair color kit.
Now, as far as re-doing it....I don't agree with her assesement, it should and could be able to be re-done...is your hair thin? and destroyed? super damaged? these would be the reasons she would and could say that..........
but
if they are not the case - she is trying to BS you I am thinking....although in her defense....i AM wondering if maybe she used everything possible and that is how it came out,.....that DOES HAPPEN......i could make a much better assesement if i knew ABOUT THAT chestnut brown color & where that came from.
The way celebs go from color to color is with a product called MODULAT....I used to do them All
the time it is a super expensive procedure but celebs and most southern callif people i dealt with - don't care- I is a product from Germany that literally takes the old color OUT OF THE hair COMPLETELY without DAMAGE....it works on the molecular level...and reverses the color and takes it out of the hair....MODULAT IS A HUGE HOLLYWOOD SECRET...it was my trick for a long time in the Salon I was in I never told anyone about it.....( that's how the world of pro hair works out here...you are only as good as your tricks!!)
Now everyone knows about it out here.....
Blow her away ask her what she knows about MODULAT, if she has never heard of it then she is not a good colorist.
Last 2 things:
1.)all bets are off when BOXED hair color is used at ANY STAGE, and then no 2 are alike so right when I thought I had figured out how to get the color out quick in one brand someone with another Yellow/Orange nightmare would come in and none of the same tricks would work.I still remember like it was yesterday how miserable Sebastians' ColourShines they called them CELLOphanes...they are the single WORST Hair Color product on the market --- It DESTROYS the hair and NEVER EVER COMES OUT.
2.) If you are not happy and at that price they should be guaranteed - if you have to...
get the Salon owner involved...it sounds to me like some more highlights should and could be put in..... If she used Bleach, - OIL beach would protect your hair really well, if you/she is worried about the condition of your hair....
CAN get most hair colors out,,,so I am puzzled as to why it did not get the brown out???
...........unless she was using the wrong product....
I HAVE SEEN THAT HAPPEN
WWWWWWWWAY too many times.
I NEVER read anyone else's answers- but i just caught the first one on here......and DO NOT USE the COLOR REMOVER that uses peroxide as he/her suggests, that will only continue to damage the hair.....everything he/she has said is not exactly what fits your particular instance.
ONLY ever in this problem use MOD-U-LAT made by Schwartzkopf.
It is two bottles that look like 2 bottles of water, when mixed together the smell is horrendous...absolutely horrendous.
But it works <> and it rocks

The Best And Fastest Solution Is To Start Fresh, Go To The Beauty Supply And Get A Haircolor Remover (Clairol UNCOLOR Or L'Oreal Effasol Or Effasor) Use With A 10 Vol. Creme Developer. Lift Hair Until It Is One Shade Level Lighter Than The Color You Want Or Until It Stops Lightening (No More Than 25 Mins.) Then, Wash And Condition. Let your Hair And Scalp Rest For A Day Or Two And Then Apply Your Selected Color. ( Some Suggestions Are NICE N' EASY® #089 Ultra Light Neutral Champagne Blonde #097 Ultra Light Beige Blonde #101 Baby Ash Blonde L'Oreal PEFERENCE® 10.1 Helsinki Light Ash Blonde, 9.13 Bergen Light Beige Blonde. EXELENCE® 10.21 Lightest Pearl Blonde FERIA® Blonde Booster P01 Silver Blonde) P.S. Since Your Hair Has Already Been "Highlighted" The New Hair Color Will "Take" Differently On These Areas Giving You Highlights Without Having To Do Them Again (You May Need To Wait For A Few Shampoos For The "Excess" Color To Wash Out Of The Highlights For Them To Show-Up.)

not all hair takes to removing color as well as some. Some people have virgin hair that just goes poof really quickly. The darker the shade the longer the lift though.
They probably want you not to fry your hair out, so that's why they're telling you that you shouldn't bleach more that quickly.
I know back when I had my big transformation to platinum, it cost me 500 something and I was there for 8 hours. And I knew the hair dresser!
Processing does numbers on your hair. Bleaching too much in such a short span can make your hair brittle or even fall out if too much processing is done. You certainly wouldn't want that done would you? However 6-8 weeks it a bit extreme. I would wait a week or so. I've had my hairdresser do processing one day, then a couple days later, continue processing it again.
Your hair needs time to rest. In the meantime, use hair restoring products and good conditioners to make sure your hair is healthy.
Be patient. I know it's not easy. But you do not need to be 6-8 weeks patient. That is absolutely ridiculous.

as someone who has bleached, dyed and everythign else to her hair, i think i am well off answering this...(did i mention i do it all myself, so i knopw first hand how the chemicals and such work)
first of all- bleaching your hair makes it weaker... so the more you bleach it... the weaker and more fragile it will get
second- the fact that you put semi permenant dye in your hair might have an effect becasue the bleach essentially "eats" the color away from your hair and if there is dye on your hair, it has to get through that.
third- there are different kinds of bleach and developers.. here is a quick explanation....
bleach-
genreally there is a straight bleach- this will keep the same "hue" to your hair, just lighter, "blue" bleach is the cool tone bleach- this will literally make your hair white if you want, "brown/red" bleach will make a warmer, coppery tone to your hair
developer-
developer is a cream or liquid that is mixed with the bleach and comes generally in numbers 20, 30, 40....
the higher the number, the more lift you will get.. meaning the more color will be "taken" from your hair
i think if you explained exactly what you wanted to the hair dresser that there should have been no problem getting the "look" you wanted if they knew what they were doing.
I would suggest maybe going to a diff stylist and asking them what they would do to your hair as like a second opinion type thing. As far as getting your hair redone immediately and not waiting the 6 weeks, i would say it would be alright to get it re-bleached, but i wouldnt push it past htat because like i said, it will weaken your hair the more and more you do it... also, after you get the color you want, and if you want to keep haing the highlights... try not to re-bleach the entire length of your hair, just the new growth becasue trust me on this... you dont want 3 inch spikes of broken hair all over the top of your head ( i learned that one the hard way) good luck!

unfortunately there really isn't a very safe alternative. you can double process it. But since you had semi-perm dye before hand color will not lift color thus the reason for your hair salon highlighting it which is basically bleaching it in small doses.
The best way to get very nice platinum blonde hair is to let your natural grow out then dye it. you will be able to life it like 3 shades without having to use bleach.
Hair color is hard but you can research more on google.

I have died my hair blonde, to brown, to red, to blonde and back to brown, and my hair is not the same because i did it all in a quick time, and i really regret it, so i suggest that you should wait the time given for your hair, or else it will be really damaged and you will spend more time and money on getting it back to just your normal hair. Just give it some time. also if you didn't like it in the first place you shouldn't have paid them and let them redo it the way you want it to be.or just don't do it at that place any more unless garanteed perfection. it's your hair and you dedide what you want to do with it, but i suggest waiting a little bit, it will pay off...
just want to wish you good luck:)

first off you should have told them you didnt like the color, and be very specific when you tell them what you want
they work to make people like their hair
this might be horrible but you could bleach it then go get other highlights and colors put into it
it takes time to switch dark hair, and celebrities get amazing hair dressers and have mucho $$$
