im 18 and was injured playing basketball. i was using crutches and got off them about a month ago from a ankle injury. My ankle has been sore lately and i went and had it checked. my doc said i had tissue damage(probably my fault...sum times went to parties and places and just hobbled or used one crutch). He saaid i would have to use a cane for 3 months to give my tissue rest to heal. i got a black one and had to go to walmart afterwards. i walked back to the dvd's with the cane and overheard a group of teens making fun of my "old man' cane. what i wanna know is did any teen guys here ever use a cane or is there a more teenish cane i could get thanks...

Don't pay any attention to any teens hanging out in Walmart! If they were cool, they'd at least be hanging out in Target, or something! :)

just use whatever cane works for what you need
style is just whatever you find dont worry about wanting something hip and stylish its really stupid

Don't worry about what anyone says. I had to use one for a few months also, and at time I was kind of embarrassed. so, I wouldn't use it, I really regret that now. I has caused more problems for me. Just do as the doc says. Maybe you could use to "attention" you get to your advantage.?!

I'm handicapped and, I've never had anyone laugh at me. In fact, I've had people going out of their way to help when I've had a problem. Teen agers are especially helpful. Maybe you just got a bad bunch.
I hear a little pity hear, your just using one for awhile, I've had one most of my life, get used to it.
