All shampoos are not the same.

How's your scalp? How's the rest of your body (thought question, don't post an answer)? If oily hair is just a natural symptom of oily skin, there are two treatments:

Remove the oil from the skin and hair from the outside, repeat, repeat, repeat ....
or
Reduce the intake of fats/oils ... *not* completely, you absolutely do need some for health, but you might not need as much as you normally take in. This would be a change for life.

a few ideas-
wash your hair daily (some people were brought up on the "once every other day" thing)
use a GOOD.... i mean... not like suave or some cheap brand of shampoo for oily hair
try going to a beauty supply store where they sell salon products and ask the workers their for assistance- they sometimes have things that you cant buy at your local walmart
if it is really oily- use a basic dish soap (none of the fancyones like one for soft hands or foaming, etc, just very basic)
pay attention to other styling products you may use because some mouses or hairspray will make your hair more oily
possibly try a dandruff shampoo for oily skin (this may sound wierd), but my bf (he has dandruff though) but his skin is really oily and a good dandruff shampoo really helps his hair not to be oily

Keeping your hair short will lengthen the time between washes. Your hair is probably thin too, isn't it? longer hair is heavy, it will make your hair follicles produce more oil.
