Odin also was hung from a tree (Yggdrasil). All Hallows' Eve is just a christian reinvention of Samhain. The list goes on and on of where christianity borrowed its "truth" from.
A bunch of stories pulled together as a means of social control. Heavily biased (and factually incorrect) history, a collection of repressive laws and some awful poetry. That's the bible. It is so inconsistent no modern day publisher of fantasy novels would touch it. How people can accept it as being any truth, let alone "the truth" is utterly incomprehensible.

Horus and Mithras are two different stories, BTW - they were different men in different parts of the country, at different times.
Though you are correct - there are actually many "son" stories out there, just as every culture has a creation story and actually a flood story.
