Would you have it in your house or are you a boring beige person? Just Kidding :P

Should we add purple, pink and white clouds to it or leave it as is with the blue sky only?

We're also debating on whether to paint the ceiling silver (we want to do this throughout the house), or to just do the rest of the ceilings silver and have this one continue the mural sky.

I sure love how that face is done. Very nice work.

I'd stick with the bed cover design. Because of the 3 color setting (blue yellow and orange) you should think twice about adding a new color that only is in some details. They will stick out like the proverbial thumb. Same goes for the silver. In other rooms this will not be a problem (actually it will look great) but as the sun is on your ceiling as well you will make your design break in a unnatural place. If the sun was for 30% or more on the ceiling it could work but now it will have the same effect as a photograph taken by your old aunt.. you know... the headles kind. It will just look not right.

But who knows. It is your room so you can judge best. Let us know how it turned out. I'm very curious.

I wouldn't do anything to the mural itself. Clouds are not the style, and the colors you mention would delete the impact of what you have. Silver? No. If you have to do something to the ceiling, let the blue sky continue. White as is would be fine as long as there aren't stains or something that need to be covered up.
If I were to add anything at all, it might be a quote. I'd put one--or maybe several--around the top of the room maybe 2" from the ceiling, and no more than 4-6"-tall letters. And not over the lion. Maybe something like: Fear an ignorant man more than a lion. *** It is better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life. *** Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
If you do this, make sure the lettering is as equisitely done as the rest of your piece. And use a darker shade of your rust.

I really like the idea, there's something about the face on the sun that seems kind of creepy to me, to be honest. I think it's because it's so detailed, but my tastes aside he did an excellent job. I think the pink/purple clouds would clash too much with the blue sky, so just keep that blue, and as for the silver, maybe you should paint a silver moon on the other side of the room? And on the ceiling paint stars on the moon side of the room, and silver clouds on the ceiling of the sun side of the room? I don't know if that's too much, but I think that would be cool :)

i think adding clouds is a good idea....or something. right now the blue sky is a bit flat for the rest of the mural. you could consider a simple dark to light sky without any clouds, kind of like dawn or dusk.

i think painting the ceiling is a good idea. i really like the chrome idea, or something metalic. i also like the mood idea across the room, or in another room if you did this house wide.

good luck!

I think that some clouds would be nice, but I think that you should stick with the orange color scheme, like white clouds with some gold orange and yellow highlights and reflections. I think that pink and purple would clash in that room, though you could do another room with the same sun, but in cooler colors, and do the pinks and purples in there. That is just really awesome work he's done.

painting the whole room including ceiling is xcellent idea. Bec your sun is too detailed, i think the sky should carry the same discipline in terms of detailing (not just plain blue). kindly review colour wheel so you can avoid too much color clash. wud u like to remove d ceiling fan to hav the complete feeling of stars and clouds over you? MAGANDA! (that's filipino word for beautiful)

I think that it is beautiful and adds a sense of tranquility. I wouldn't add pinks, or whites though. Maybe (just a suggestion) some rustic deep red and a burnt orange... to set off more of a relaxed feel. No matter what you decide i think its gorgeous. Maybe the burnt rustic orange for the ceiling??

i would leave it as is. your fiance is an excellent artist. i would also not paint the ceiling silver. it would draw the focus away from the mural.
