why does it happen that when somebody stops doing bodybuilding, all his muscles begin to hang down?

not all of them are like that. many continue to train but once they are no longer taking anabolics that are substantialy smaller and there is an increase in body fat since the level of androgens are decreased.

Tony Pearson is a trainer at the Gold's that I go to, he's still in great shape.

muscles either atrophy or hypertophy so if you don't use them you lose them

Because when bodybuilders stop training their muscles get lazy so they don't hold up. the bodybuilders aren't toning them so they lose tone. just like when you stop dieting you are likely to gain the fat back if you become lazy again.

It's probably the skin. When they were fit, the skin stretches to cover their bulging muscles. As they grow older, the skin loses its elasticity and with no muscle to stretch the skin, it'll hang down.
