I have been using a Mac at work which has 89 hertz refresh rate...it is a delight on the eyes...This is an old Mac. I am about to buy a computer and would like to match this but don't even know where to start...it seems as if no new models allow for adjusting the refresh rate. Do any of you know how this can be done or what is the best way to get a computer that is adjusted for sensitive eyes?

Turns out the refresh rates can be altered on the various computers but... so far, I find the old Mac allows for the higest percentage. The old mac goes up to 110! Many seem to stop at 75.

It all depends upon the monitor and the video card, the other components in the computer don't affect that.

If you're looking at display properties you can go into settings/advanced/monitor and try adjusting the refresh rate.

Just avoid computers with cheap integrated motherboard video, even a $50 dedicated video card is easier on the eyes than most of those...
